Nice write up.

I will be doing the same here shortly.

How far does the shockwave/JMAC combo fold?

Maybe have a picture?

Thank you.

It folds fine, just can't lock it up to the folded position with the KAK tube/Shockwave Brace installed. I submitted the Form 1 in May in hopes to switch to an actual triangle stock or polymer stock within 8 months from now.

With the JMAC Customs MOD-2 installed, it's really not meant for folding anyway..

I can post photos later tonight.

Here ya go! As you can see with the JMAC Customs MOD-2 installed it does not fully fold. It pretty much meant to just be fully extended only.

Thank you again.

I think it will fold enough for the intended purpose I have for it.

First, I drilled a hole through the receiver. Then I start shaping out the latch. See trunnion on first photo. Once you drill the hole, you can start using a dremel.

But, did you only remove receiver material? Or did you have to remove trunnion material too?

Drill, dremmel the receiver only. No need to touch the trunnion. You just need to shape the receiver to the trunnion latch opening. Take your time when you are shaping the receiver to the trunnion. You don't want to dremel/remove any material from the trunnion. It's very easy to do.. Just take your time. Once you see the outline edges of the trunnion latch, that will be your guide to shape. See last photo... You can see the trunnion latch outline.

Here's photos from when I did the M92.

One more thing Island, do you use any RS Regulate Mounted Optics?

If you do, could you see how much the mount affects the folding, if any?

It would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I've never used optics on any of my AK's. It has always been good old iron sights. Believe it or not, YESTERDAY was my first time I ever used a red dot optic. I bought the Vortex Strikefire II red/green dot optic that was on sale and installed it on my Colt 6921 SBR.

I may consider getting a rail mount for the UR's. I'm starting to like the red dot.

Dang, I was hoping I wouldn't have to experiment or start a thread.

Red dots are nice at times, ya never know though, I may stick with irons for a while.

Very nice work and great write up as always island. Missed this one the first time around but caught it thanks to the kvar sale thread.

Tagging thread as I may reach out to you on the template. Either borrow or get some dimensions off you if possible.

Nicely done!

No problem Bruddah!! Yes, you can borrow the template for the front latch. Just pay for the shipping both ways.

Default Just received my TAX STAMP!!

UPDATE: Just received my TAX STAMP in the mail!

Mailed the Form 1 on 05/12/2017 and received it EXACTLY 8 months later. Time to remove that silly shockwave brace and install the Tula Triangle Stock!!!

After waiting 8 months, it's time to replace the Shockwave Brace with a Tula Triangle Stock!!!

Much better!! Hmm... I thought I saw a Bulgy Polymer Folder in the MP today.. I might have to check it out!
