Default Pinned and Welded Booster

So I have been seriously considering get a SLR 104 ur sbr but because I live in MD, the booster has to be pinned and welded in place to meet the 29" OAL requirement. But I'm concerned about corrosion and rust building up under the booster. Is this something I should be worried about even if I don't shoot corrosive ammo?

Thanks

One option is to get the full barrel length 104ur and pin on a fake can.

I was considering that, but I like of the look of a traditional AK74u with the booster. I'm just not sure if its a good idea to have the booster pinned and welded as far as corrosion goes.

Shoot a couple hundred rounds through it and you'll have a nice protective layer of carbon.

The front sight base needs to be permanently attached to barrel besides attaching the booster to it.
