Default Galil barrel information.

Can you guys help me find a print of a .223 galil barrel dimensions? I need the gas port size and gas port location. I have tried goo-ogle but I only get the gas port size. Thanks.

The earliest info I have may be approximate, but it states a 30 degrees angle (may be approximate from the AK's 26 degrees or may be accurate) and a gas port of 1.8 mm (0.07086") for 55 grain bullet ammo and the standard 18 inch barrel. Several Galil based websites claim a measured 0.073" gas port. This may be due to drill wobble or wear though. The newer AK's made for NATO spec ammo and its heavier bullet have gas ports that are 1.7 mm (0.0669"). With an 18 inch barrel and good gas piston to gas block fit, I would think a 1/16" (0.0625") gas port might work for NATO spec ammo in an 18" barrel.

Thank you allesennogwat. Where is the gas port located on the barrel? From the chamber end. I was looking for a print to base a blank. I will google hillbilly arms as well.

You need to install your gas block then drill. Not the other way around!
