Default What to use as replacement firing pin for saiga 7.62?

Looks like my saiga 7.62x39 firing pin finaly went out..what should I use to replace it? Does it take standard ak47 pin? I saw century arms sells a field kit including those..

A saiga 7.62 uses the thin stem ak 74 style bolt. You need an AK 74 style free floating style firing pin like this at Kvar. https://k-var.com/firing-pin-for-all...senal-bulgaria I sold all I had in the MP, you might check there to see if any other members have them.

So not to argue with you....But I've been told that dry firing is only truly an issue with rim fires, and that center fire guns were OK to do that with, except the m1903 due to a poor strength in materials. Is this wrong? Been told from former military as well as some instructor's.

Do you know what the approximate round count was before the firing pin broke? Just curious

An AK-74 pin will work just fine. Not too expensive either.

Default The OP

You know this "guy" is notorious for posting weird shit and then almost never responding to the answers.

I swear he reminds me of either "Super Dave" the barrel wear worrier. Or "Kalashn" who posted all sorts of nonsense.

It's a free board. But don't expect anything to happen from our postings.

My 2C
