Default DP/DB SKS - any new info on these?

So i've had this sks for afew years it's a chinese DP marked. Good shooter. I don't think it's super rare or valuable or anything but the markings have always intrigued me. The best info i've found is on an old sks files thread ?with AKBLUE? which theorized (i think correctly) that the first chinese character is for the city of manufacture. In this case 白=Baicheng, type 56

Anything new on the DP part? It is also (very crudely) stamped inported by GLNIC of whom i'm aware of.

No new insights or information on the DP/DB stamped guns that I've encountered.

Yeah, I figured that nothing new is up. I kinda think that the Chinese intentionally inflated production numbers and factories for what ever reason.

Bingo!

Inflating production numbers was a documented, rampant practice in all areas of manufacturing and production in the early years of Industrial China-- especially during and immediately following the Great Leap catastrophe of Mao's second five-year-plan.

IMHO, it isn't really too much of a leap to think it continued into the post-Mao years.
