Default Flashlight attachment suggestions wanted.

Like the title says I'm thinking about adding a flashlight to my AK and want some suggestions on the best way to do it.

Thanks

Here's a deal to jump on:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACKHAWK-A...oAAOSwrklVQTot

This same light is $55 bucks on Amazon and even that's cheap compared to what it usually sells for. I won 2 and am about to order another.

Add a rail of some sort and a $3 scope ting and a 1" flash light.

Plenty of cheap rail options for hand guards .

I put a $5 ebay ultra fire on a AR pistol for about $10 total.
It's held up fine. ( so far)
I'm not going into battle.
Identical light used all day at work is going strong fir 8 months now. I have been charging the same two batteries daily for that same time. There about a $1.50 each.

Cool light. I bet it lasts a few days before it breaks. Thanks for sharing. Too bad it's not a mount, which is what the OP wants.

On a side note, aren't you the dumbass that is always arguing in favor of the C39V2 and RAS-47? Why does it not surprise me that you are recommending a $22 weapon light...

...you can always put Magpul MLok handguards on. Doesn't get any easier than that.

I'm almost surprised there are more barrel clamp style mounts though but I guess the varying thickness of barrels makes that a pain in the ass.

Couple of good ways.

1. RS Regulate BM-(whatever version fits your barrel) and either Vltor Offset/1” flashlight or IWC Thorntail/SF Scout.

2. Echo93 MK65 or IWC SMC/SMCXL bolted directly to poly lower handguard with 1” or Scout light.

3. Magpul handguard with #2 attached.

4. Ultimak with #1 attached.

RS Regulate makes several sizes for WASR, VEPR, Yugo, etc.

Consider an RS Regulate mount with an Inforce gen 2 weapon light. I've run my setup for about 6 months and no issues thus far.

Good to know. Doubt I'll run an AK for a defensive rifle but who knows.

(main reason is they're not terribly lefty friendly but that's mostly just the safety. The Krebs ambi in my 5 minutes of doodling with early is kinda wonky. It's best use is to BHO.)

I run a Streamilght ProTac Rail Mount 1 on a Haley Thorntail SBR mounted on an Ultimak.

It was my first AK mounted weapon light setup, so I used stuff I already had laying around. I dig it, though, so I'm thinking of upgrading to the 2-cell ProTac (using the same mount, etc).

Streamlight TLR (1 to 6) any model will do the job. Also, you can take a look Fenix brand small flashlight just like https://tacticalflashlightguide.com/fenix/e12-review/ this.

Been discussed a bazillion times with many recommendations
http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=313542

$5 UltraFire 2000 lumens LED flashlight off Aliexpress
and china sourced MLoK rail attached to Magpul handguard

I bought about 20 of these and used one for 5 years for work and it just died last week....kinda
I buy the EBL 18650 Lithium batteries, and a nighthawk charger off Amazon

Just remember, heat transfers thru metal, and electronics and extreme heat variables shortens lifespan
Hence why I did not like metal to metal solutions, especially to the gas tube.....or barrel, I prefer handguard
No astroglide here.......

Those lights are available with just a on off switch and a curly cord is avaliable for about $2.
I use mine ever day.
The tube is 1" so any standard scope ring fits them.
I have one on a AR pistol. I haven't shot it a lot but it's still working.

My light brighter than my streamlight.

Even if you don't put one on a rifle there a good light for $5 to $10
I'm ordering few more.

They do get warm.
I used one as a hand warmer once on service call.

The cheap charger works fine. I'm going to get a bigger one for more batteries because I use the eBay head light a ton now and it takes two.

I'll check out alliexpress

Yes they do work ....BUT.....

The one I have is currently on sale @ Amazon for 1/2 off.....and digital now.

FWIW I personally also do NOT charge anything lithium unless it's over a wood floor, for this reason......

What I don’t like about a light on an AK is that they light the front sight base up and depending on the brightness of the light it can be somewhat blinding in itself

Since you only asked about a mount, I will tell you what I did. Don't know what kind had guards you have, but I wanted to keep my Polish wood, so I picked up a magpul 5 slot rail, $6, went to hardware store and got 2 longer screws, a couple of washers and nuts, and slipped in between the upper and lower hand guard. Has held tight with no problems so far.

Not sure if you have an Ultimak, an aftermarket handguard, factory or what so that all changes things as far as the mount

But for the actual light, the new Surefire G2X Tactical in 600 lumens for $60 is pretty impossible to beat, and if you order from bhphotovideo, you get a free 5 lumen / 45 lumen small keychain light which actually is pretty dam nice for what it is

That's how I have mine set up. I hardly attach the light but putting it on this side with a right handed shooter puts the reflection off the front sight base on the opposite side of the shooters dominant eye.

Zenitco B10M and surefire M300 scout with Haley thorntail if looking for top. Other wise my other one has a surefire G2 in a VLTOR offset mount on an ultimax. Other option is just use a Mlok rail section be creative on a wood forend and a vltor mount surefire G2 or other light. I usually stick with surefire other wise streamlight is a good option.

Happen to have a link to that light? The link in the other thread no longer works, and searching google turns up a thousand different lights. Thanks!

Anyone of the top search results (arranged by orders) is what you want.

https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesa...+t6+FLASHLIGHT

I'm sure you've seen these in Home Depot or Lowes being sold for $20 a pop under a different rebranding.
Don't forget the EBL 18650's off Ebay, and the charger on Amazon.....you need the whole kit n kaboodle here.

I have never had that problem. But, my light is essentially *below* the barrel -- I guess no light hits the FSB directly that way; (I press the button on the butt-end of the light with my left index finger.) As in the other link mentioned above, I like the light to be below the barrel so that I get a more complete view of the shooting lane. My light is offset just slightly left, maybe a millimeter -- I don't have the gun in front of me right now.
