Default What is the best g19

That's not a g19?
I've been looking for something to replace my g19, and I see a lot of contenders but they end up being wider or heavier or don't carry as many in the mag or this or that. What do y'all consider the best g19 defeater out there?
Oh and right at around $500.
I don't want to hear about $750+ pistols.

I looked at that, but was not happy about the fact it was just a tiny bit bigger. It's probably unnoticeable though

Then you need to move to a subcompact. Sig p365.

I went single stack and carry a LC9s Pro and don't mind it one bit or feel undergunned, also much more comfortable and easy to conceal.

G19X is the balls and I hate Glocks. Typical Glock.......doesn't jam and on target.

I prefer the vickers model just what you need no more no less

For stock just get a gen 3 add some night sights and boom bobs your uncle cant stand the fringer grip get a gen 5

I still like the vickers and gen 3 over the rest

You could always buy a different G19 and scratch off the "19" on the slide and engrave some other number in it's place.

That's really your only option for the best G19 that isn't a 19.

There is a reason you're having a trouble finding better than the G19.

I mean really, if it's not Glock, it's crap.

I still think CZ P-10C is a contender. Especially as it seems the initial issues have been worked out.

Shot one, liked it but the sliding slide cover freaked me out

I nominate the Sig Sauer SP2022.

I have owned a Gen2 G19 for about 20 years, and it's a good pistol.

I got my Sig SP2022 in September, 2015 and I like it better than the G19.

As accurate as the Glock is, the Sig is better ( for me ). I also prefer the Sig's ergonomics, and its drop-free magazine.

I do like the sights on the G19 better. But regardless, I shoot the SP better. And it's not just me. My 27 year old son tried them side by side some time ago, and he preferred the Sig as well.

YMMV.

SIG SP2022.

Ehhh, it’s just a another compact, polymer, striker fired, pistol.

Everyone and their brother makes them now.

Unless you have to have striker fired pistol, get a CZ P01 or a P07.

Gen 3 Glock 19 is probably in most widespread usage. There is no reason I see to upgrade. If I had half a dozen Gen3 Glock 19’s I’d never buy another pistol as long as I live.

I have a gen3, a gen 4 and a x ordered. I also carry a shield sometimes. A holster makes a big difference in the way you carry as well.

If I had to take a shot at thread starters question:
CZ p10c, steyr m9a1, fn509, walther ppq m2, etc.

We cannot answer this for you, cause it will vary per individual. Out of ten that like the glock 19, and if each of the 10 picked one that was better for them, each would not choose the same pistol. Which one is best for you? Go out to local gun stores, and check out new pistols, if you have to shoot one, find a friend with one, or find a range to rent different pistols and see.

For me, the glock 19 has its place for me, would I replace it with something...there is something I would if I could (had a ton of $), wilson combat edc x9.

Walther's ppq is supposed to have a phenomenal trigger; not sure of its dimensions tho

A hammer fired CZ like a CZ P07 mentioned also could be good. May be a couple ounces heavier tho. The other thing I have noticed w CZ guns is that grip is longer than a Glock grip housing mags of similar capacity. This may make a slight difference in CCW as it is, IMHO, the most important dimension after width. CZ also likely is wider given controls

Honestly nothing beats a G19, but out of the 70+ pistols I've owned, the FNS-9 and Hk P2000v3 have come closest. I loathe m&P's, and the 320C is just odd in some ways. The next closest would be a ppq.

If I had to have any other striker fire to replace my G19, it would be a PPQ.

I actually had a G19 and PPQ M2 (Also a 9mm M&P compact) in my possession to determine my next carry. I made several trips to the range with all of them. The Walther won out and I haven't looked back. To get a G19 with the trigger and ergonomics that a factory PPQ comes with ups the cost by 50%.

Just my experience. The Walther is the Glock slayer...

If you didn't see it on paper, you'd probably wouldn't know the fucking difference. They all are polymer pistols, and all do the same damn thing. Ignoring all the hype, nothing special about the G19 other than it's size, aftermarket support, and the fact that high capacity mags are available. The rest is person preference.

Most people who don't like Glocks but want something the same size go with the M&P 2.0 Compact or CZ P10c.... The YouTube comparison vids I seen between the M&P and G19 showed that they are damn near the same size and weight even though you get steel in with the M&P, e.i., metal sights, guide rod, and beefier rails....

Glock never did tickle my fancy.

I carry a full size Beretta 92FS. It points well, it fits my hand well, it's more accurate than I am, it conceals well, it's as reliable as an AK.

To each their own.

G23 with a 9mm conversion barrel.
G26 with a G19 magazine and the x-grip is handy. You lose the rail but the front of the slide is tapered and slide is a tad shorter. The tapered slide lets it conceal a lot easier.

Buy an SD9VE. It’s so much like a Glock that Glock sued them over it. Really not a bad gun for what it cost. If I had to pick the best “cheap” gun, that would be it by a mile.

Pick any of the many polymer striker fired double stacks. All are roughly the same weight. You're looking at a difference of like 3-4 ounces.

Best advice of the thread. The Glock 19, M&P, Walthers, CZs, etc are all basically similar with minor changes. None is better than the other, and it's all about person preference. The OP should take a trip to his LGS to see what fits HIM the best.

Same here. The only Glock I ever owned or liked was the G26. The rest are just blahh to me and over way over hyped and priced for what they are. They're all the same size, have the similar finishes, similar dimensions, and similar weight. I'm more of a steel framed pistol (CZ, 1911s, Berettas, Sigs, etc) guy myself. I rather spend $500-$600 on a CZ vs a Glock or the like.

If you still have the g19 then keep it.
If you don't have it anymore then go back and bring that bitch back home.

I chose an FNS9 over a G19 when I was looking for my last carry piece. I think the FNS9 is tops. Don't get me wrong, I'm still getting a 19 though. Why limit myself?

I'd like an fns 9c. Y'all have some good suggestions, appreciate the input. I'll stick with the G19 for now. Got no money to spend anyway but I like to research.
