Default 23 Chinese Drum Variants

I have been collecting these for awhile and thought maybe a list of what is out there could be of some use to some of you. I had thought there was about 13 variants but found a few others, at 17 I thought I was finished but found 6 more. I have 23 at the moment, 24 if you count an RPD drum. I can't figure out how to put pictures up but if anyone would like pictures, just let me know and I can email them to you. Or, if someone knows how, and wouldn't mind doing it, that would be great. Also, if someone has a drum not listed, I would surely be interested. Thanks

The model 87 rpk ribs and feed lip is different. Nice list, where are the pictures?

I collect 100s and you have all 4 variants listed.

I like imgur on the laptop, hate the mobil version. Just make sure you mark the pics as private or you will get a bunch of negative responce ,if that bothers you.

I wish we could upvote. From someone in a state who can't easily acquire these any more, this is fantastic. A little help if you don't mind below...

75 rounders are going for $89 give or take $10.
Those KCI with the plastic back cover are $50. I'm going to try one out.

You could open a museum on those alone.

This was probably the best first post I've seen on a forum. Way to make a contribution straight off the bat. Even as a person interested in Chicom AK's I had no idea there were that many variations our there. If anything I'm only familiar with about 10 of these, and only own 1.

The drums with the Circle 10 stamped, or etched etc, are Chinese, they were marked like that and sent through Bulgaria for a while to get past the ban, but were caught eventually and stopped.

Thank you Wasrman, AGG, and Ohlongarm, appreciate that. Been a fun hunt, I never realized there were that many either, had a lot help from a lot of good people! Just got one more today, the Chinese RPD. Hopefully that's it!

That is an excellent list and pics! I hope someone can make a list of just AK 7.62 Chinese mags though. I find combining .223 and SKS to be a bit confusing, because I have no interest in those.

I can make a list of the 7.62 Chinese mags I have, it will take me awhile to post pictures etc. I'm still trying to figure how to do this here. Here is a list of what I have presently.

1: 40 Round Flat back
2: Polytech Chrome Follower, 3 Witness hole
3: Polytech Blue Follower, 3 Witness hole
4: Blue Follower, 3 Witness hole, CJA Floor Plate
5: Transitional
6: 3 Witness hole, CJA Floor Plate, Full Auto cut
7: All Stamp, full ribs
8: All Stamp, partial ribs
9: SINO, Triangle 66 stamp, 3 Witness hole
10: SINO, Trinagle 66 stamp, 1 Witness hole
11: SINO, unstamped
12: Flat Back, Stamped lug
13: 30 Round Flat Back
14: Type 81
15: 20 Round
16: 10 Round
17: 5 Round
18: Type 63, 2x2
19: Type 63, 2x1

21: Type 63, Phenolic

There are some Type 63 mags that I need to get yet, just started collecting them. Star mags mostly.

Excellent work!

I have 3 drums now but they're all Triangle 36, haven't come across any of the other variants yet.

I would have to say the RILO Engineering stamped drum, I have only heard of 2-3 being known to have been seen by other individuals. I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can pin down at the moment. The Polytech Mickey Mouse drums are nice too, in their construction and finish.

I believe #13 drum came with the Norinco marked RPKs and #15 drum came with the Polytech marked RPKs. Some chinese rpk drums have a matte finish. Can you post pictures of the mag latch area and the 3 circular ribs on the backside? They should be different then all the other drums.
