I love me a nice Valmet. Ian makes great videos. He comes off a little nerdy but he is quite knowledgeable about a variety of firearms.

Great video, thanks for posting. I love Valmets, wish I had not sold my M76 .223 folder years ago, oh well only human, yikes. Here is Larry Vickers video on the civilian version of the SAKO Rk92S:

Damn guys, waiting for Nails to tear you both a new one...Both videos have been posted before...

(Not that I really care)

I have both, prefer Sako maybe a bit more since my Valmet is early version, later ones like I had while in the army have wraparound front handguard and better material on that and PG. Much more comfortable to shoot, those early ones are a bit slippery. Also trigger on Sako is a bit better, more two stage which I'm used to. Valmet is not having a really crisp break like Sako. Still a good trigger.

By the way Sako M92S is civilian version of RK95.

Oh yeah, I'm cracking up how Larry is handling that Sako in "bolt action" mode, gas port shut. Come on man....It's really EASY...I have tried it many times, just use the charging handle like you do when you chamber a round after inserting a mag, it's no rocket science. Good pull and you don't struggle with it like Larry did.

Maybe the ammo he is using is expanding in the chamber and making things more difficult? I am sure he's not using the same stuff as used in the FDF.

Generally, the FW video is good and accurate about the M62s and RK.62, but he does have a few details a bit mixed up. To be expected though. Ian isn't especially into the AK, and is more of a generalist regarding a very wide range of historical firearms.

I used cheap Barnaul etc Russian, Czech and so on ammo on my Sako so I'm quite sure Larry is using same or even better ammo when he was effing up his attempts to use it like a bolt action...It's really not that hard.

Hi (New guy here !)

I believe Larry's M92 belongs to a small batch of M/92s made to identical specs as the RK95 minus the full auto capacity of course. I also have one of these myself (but the gunsmith had to install a washer on the folding stock hinge so that it can not be folded anymore - to be compliant with regular rifle permit in Finland).

Here's a pic of mine

Someone told me that they made 10 of these rifles, mostly as retirement gifts for high level Sako executives but i do not know if it is true.

Serial number wise, Larry's M92 and mine are less than 10 units apart...

And yes, it is semi only (you can also see the thick washer on the folding stock axle that prevent the lower branch to be pressed):

Apart from the muzzle break, fire selector and the stock, it also has the RK95 pistol grip which is different from the ones they used later on the M92/s

Good to have another Finn here.

Below my M92S so you can compare, mine has B&T (insanely expensive) rails on it, original handgrip of course is saved on my safe.. Also mine has fixed stock.

Since there's so few of them in the wild, I wonder how the FAL-type muzzle brake on the M92/M95 works as far as how effective it is.

Mostly, Nails will put the Stuka nose-down, the pithy, smart-ass comments will scream like the characteristic "sirens" and then Negan-like - he "shuts that shit down".

But day-um - who wouldn't want some Valmet M62/S(chweetness)?
