Man, both rifles look great. What forend do you have on the .308? I've not seen one like that.

Thanks Adam.

The Super has a DSA FAL free float tube on the fore end. It's not a direct fit.

WOW that .308 super is dead sexy. That picture alone might have swayed me from the AR-10 I have been putting together. What kind accuracy are you getting from it?

Thanks man.

An AR-10 will be more accurate.

Shooting Federal Gold Medal Match, the Super will do around 1.5 moa. Here's a 200 yard target with two, five round groups....

Awesome Hilljack, love that .308, that's really something special, rifles like that really inspire me to do more custom work on my own rifles.

Removed the US Palm Bakelite Red grip and installed a black romanian bakelite grip on my 5.45 vepr. I think I might give the new Magpul AK grip a shot and see how it turns out. Definitely liking the black look a whole lot more for the time being.

sim97fan3, nice looking rifle. What are the parts used for the mod and how is that dust cover rail working for you?

-Magpul MOE AK Grip
-Rifle Dynamics AK to M4 Adapter
-Magpul ASAP
-Magpul CTR
-TWS Dogleg & Peep sight

I'll be going to the range in the morning to zero it. It fits like a glove, I had to file down the rod to get the clip to fit in though.

Can you explain that last line?

Also what made you pick the Rifle Dynamics M4 adapter?

Bonesteel RH Folder w/Magpul CTR and Hogue Grip

I like the feel and function of it over the thumbhole stock. Still contemplating using the grip section of the original stock. Someone over at vepr.org did it and came out really nice.

Still need to find a decent FH that I like.

So many great-looking rifles on this page. I really like the Type 2 VEPRs once converted and am still trying to track one down in x39. DK, that looks like a really good setup.

Also, Aeronus, please go into some detail about your RPK. That is pretty damn sweet.

Destrado and Sim, how have the TWS dust covers been for you guys? Any issues? I have a couple, but haven't had the time to put them to use. I have my doubts about them. I am also not a fan of the inability to adjust for distance. They really need to make an adjustable rear sight for the TWS dust cover. By the way, both of your rifles look great.

Have my Vepr 54R and although I haven't had a chance to get to the range with it yet, I love it . . .

Picked up a standard 5.45 VEPR II, an RPK-74 barrel assembly from K-VAR, and an RPK-74m stock/trunnion set from Rusmilitary, then had Turbothis rip out the old barrel/trunnion and replace them (plus welding on a receiver extension to square it off). Halfway through the project I found out about the RPK-74 parts kits still floating around and kicked myself for not just doing it the easy way haha.

Sold it a while back to someone on here, had no plans for another 5.45 build in the immediate future so no point having it sit around.

Dixie789456 was kind enough to trade this in at the LGS, and so I picked it up. I actually found this site because I was searching for information on the scope that came with it, and found my VEPR's previous owner quite by accident. Small internet.

So far I love mine. I need to check to see if it has maintained zero though. I intended to the other day, but when my father and I got to the range they said they closed at 1730 as opposed to 1800. So we only had 15 minutes to shoot and we didn't get the chance to put a target up. I will go to the range tomorrow most likely and test to see if it maintained the zero I did at 25 yards. My overall goal is a 400 meter zero like the Russian's use. I'm also waiting on a American Defense Scout from Brownells for my Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24. Hopefully that gets here before I leave to go back to Afghan, if so I'll do a little write up for it.

Good looking rifle! I had a PSL with Rhineland wood very similar to that, good looking stuff.
