Cool looking mount. Any MOA built into it?

Nice looking scope mount. What does the other side look like? How close to the ejection port?

Just a thought, but have you considered extending this mount over the top and to the rear of the port where the brass usually bangs into the top cover and adding a small replaceable rubber buffer/deflector and/or a brass catcher attachment in that area? That would reduce showing your position in use and keep from damaging and losing your brass if you reload.

Just a thought...

20 MOA mounts are really nice for any kind of long range shooting, especially if you're going to dial in your turrets for the longer ranges. The only Dragunov optic mount that I'm aware of that has any MOA built in is the one offered by Lynx, it has 30. I've found it very helpful for 1000 yard (914 meter) shooting. Though with the 0 MOA mounts I've usually just gone with a 600 yard zero, so it's not like it's the end of the world. It's also fine for any short to mid-range shooting as well, which I imagine most people probably do anyways.

Looks awesome man. I like it. I also dont understand why people have this thought that Ak rifles/svd/psl/ect have to stay in the original form. Hell the m16 when first came out had no rails and shit. As weapons and gadgets evolved we turned the m16 into the m4 we use today. No one bats an eye. But do it to soviet weapons and people lose their shit sometimes. Like its a bad thing people modernize something.

Anyway, awesome work. Looks great.

It's the rarity that makes people here in the USA cringe when they see a modified SVD. If they were as prevalent as an AR, no one would care.

I so want to add a suppressor to my Tigr. Will probably do it some day.

Rarity has nothing to do with it specially when you can revert it back to its original configuration .

Guys.
Again - SVDs and Tigers at our place like AR15 at yours.
And as far as i see - noone hesitates to change their AR the way he like it.

What we do - we give the shooter the way to upgrade his SVD up to the modern requirements to DMR rifle - freefloat barrel and make solid stable optics platform while still remain at low weight.

To go this way or to stay with original rifle - is the choice of a man. And we respect both ways.

For me as a designer of a system and a shooter main reason was that i want ergonomics of AR and 1MOA accuracy with factory ammo from the rifle i have around for a reasonable price. And the system gives it it me. As well as for LE/MIL shooters who do use SVD/SVDS as their main DMR go-guns.

For the guys who want to leave their Dragunovs as soviet as it possible ( ) we decided to make low profile mount for reasonable price. And now we're starting wide field test of it.

Now we're tweaking bits there and here to make this mount as good as we can.

So your feedback is very important and i thank you for every minute you spend answering me.

And if someone here use its Dragunov not only as a safe queen but also as a long-range plinker - we can provide mount for testing in US (of course if you find it interesting)

Here are pics of mount on SVDS

I would be very happy to test your scope mount on my ndm86. I also reload 7.62x54r to shoot sub MOA groups and can provide slow motion video recording of the mount at the moment of firing. You can see some of the tests already performed on my Youtube (holescreek ) channel.

When will this be available for purchase in either Europe (eu) or US?

and this rifle should be approached the same way you approach all 1MOA systems:
- freefloat barrel
- add normal muzzle break
- remove all unnecessary furniture from the barrel (700 grams of dead weight)
- add a rail which sits low
- add an stock inline with barrel channel to mitigate the recoil impulse
- put a modern optic atop of it

Now the system weight (without scope) is the same as base SVD + steel side mount. 4190 grams with 22.5" barrel.

we're making now smaller barrel nut and slimmer lower handguard. it'll save 190 grams.
also we're now making carbon fiber stock with adjustable cheekpiece - it'll save additional 150 grams. So the weight in DMR config will be 3750 grams with 22.5" - the same as stock SVDS from the factory and 1500grams lighter than SVDM.

PS
and the rifle can be converted back if you need - so the chassis is not a permanent thing

We can't fit the stock inside desired weight (under 600 grams) with infusion.

To fit in this weight we should change process to prepreg and it multply cost and bring MSRP on prepreg stock almost to the $700 level.... it won't sale for this price.

So seems it'll stay as prototype for a time.

So... No interest in the idea for a scope rail mounted rubber covered brass deflector/catch bag mount? Guess we have to stick to black electrical tape behind the ejection port, then.

I do have another question for you. Since you guys over there are into different mods for improving accuracy on these rifles, has anyone there tried using a .308 bore/7.62x54R match chamber stainless barrel with polygonal rifling, but turned to the original SVD length and profile? If so; how'd it perform?

I'd say if there would be a need from a customers we'll make this deflector. Currently - there is no need for it. Since russian way is not deflect brass forward.

Meanwhile - any AK/Vepr/PSL freefloay handguard milled from one piece of T7075:

Our new Dragunov high AR pistol grip and buffer tube adapter is ready. Will bring buffer tube inline with the barrel. Abd with our low optics sidemount you'll be able to run AR optics mount without any problems.
