Default Hudson H9

Just had this thing pop up on my radar. Looks intriguing. 1911 grip and style trigger. Striker fired. Recoil spring in front of the trigger guard and a low bore axis. All seems good, but the damn thing weighs 34 ounces unloaded. MSRP $1147. Thought you guys might find this interesting.

Here is their website with all the details-

I'll give them credit. They finally figured out how to put a manual safety and replaceable grip panels on a 1911. Oh, wait...

I'd like to try it. Maybe someone will show up at the range with one. I'm a sucker for the phrase "low bore axis".

I'm designing a new gun, the bbl and slide are on the bottom of the gun with the grip on top. I'm pretty sure no other maker will be able to claim a lower bore axis than mine!!!

We need something to get excited over and another overpriced variation of the same thing isn't it. Who out that is really innovating or doing something new?

Maybe that BRNO 7.5 fk?

I'd like to see and shoot the Hudson, but it seems like another twist of the same thing.

Hope they put as much money into the gun as they do their videos.

Soooo...a heavy glock with a manual safety and (I assume) proprietary mags? For only $1100? Trust Recoil to be all over that shit...

Also, that thing looks massively front-heavy.

Looks like a 1911 grip frame. Double stack 9mm. Only holds 15 rounds. Not sure, but it may be able to use other 1911 double stack mags. That reversible mag catch would be the killer though. They'd definitely have to be modified.

I think that damn thing looks very cool, would need to shoot it before shilling out that kind of money reminds me of the caracal pistol.

What other pistol has the recoil spring force being driven into your grip as oppposed to above it?

I bought a used Caracal at a gun show because I knew about the recall / refund and the guy was selling it for less than I'd get when I sent it in. I basically made $75 on the deal and got to try out a weird gun. I liked it but I still sent it back. I know some people like Mrgunsngear kept theirs.

It's just a little lower. I don't think it would do much but make for a bulkier gun.

Still I suppose that is a differentiator. Would a Kriss Vector pistol count? It has a spring and a bolt go down in front the grip.

I didn't think recoil still existed, weren't they the ones who published like an anti gun article or something like that.

The old editor, Jerry Tsai, said something dumb about how regular people shouldn't be able to get their hands on full auto guns. They dumped him and replaced him with Iain Harrison from Top Shot.
