This month makes three years since my grandson hanged himself. All over a girl. He was 17 and had so much to live for...RIP Chris. We still feel the pain.

Very few talk about the weight. First suicide. First child killed. Sometimes its because the victim was my kid's age. The weight is heavy some days. It helps to know I have a friend I can call when those days become difficult. Hope you have that too.

Yeah... Truth be told, the murders have always bothered me more. Especially those of children. The one suicide that has bothered me more than the rest, was the 13 year old who took the SKS his stepdad gave him to deer hunt with, and used it on his own head because he didn't want to get on the school bus one morning. That one bothered me because of not only the kids age, but also because the entire family seemed like genuinely good people.

It just boggles the mind. It would be interesting to know what they are thinking. To me they just let everyone else win. I have no sympathy for those who off them self. I do for their family.

Terrible. I don't understand it but hesitate to condemn everyone who kills themselves. My boys are small and innocent (6 and 3) so I'm years away from 'grown up shit'. I cherish these days. I don't know how I could function if one of my kids committed suicide. I would be an empty shell for the rest of my days...

That is terrible. I tell my kids constantly to control their emotions. Self control of their emotions is what separates them from animal like behavior. How weak minded do you have to be to condemn yourself to eternal damnation over some pussy?

I dont have any kids, but I could imagine loosing a kid would be beyond comprehension no matter how it happened. Very sad to say the least!

Says who? No one really knows...do they? I believe the Bible btw, & it's not in there.

A US Army CID (criminal investigative division) warrant officer once told me that suicides were his "favorite" investigations. Why? They were "easy" to conduct.

Never been suicidal myself but as I get older, I can see how it happens.

Even though suicide per se doesnt condemn you it might be a strong sign of lack of faith.

My father committed suicide . I had been expecting it for 20 years . I told everyone else in the family who would listen , " no one can be that unhappy and not commit suicide " .

Having almost pulled the pin 30+ yrs ago myself, I can tell you it's searing desperate pain.

I'm here because I respected my family too much to hurt them that bad. It was for them that I ground though another day.
