As long as it's as nice as my VP9 and more drop safe than my P320 I'll be happy

I am thinking about getting one of these while the rebates are still available. I checked one out at an LGS and like the way it fit my hand (better than the VP9) as well as the trigger.

I currently have two .357s, a Colt King Cobra with a 4" barrel and a a Ruger SP101 with the 4.2" barrel. A friend of mine, who is also into .357 Magnums has tried to discourage me stating that I would be adopting "an alternative gun lifestyle" if I get a polymer striker fire semi auto!

Rebate good as long as bought before 9/15

I will always love my hammer fired guns, but I'm getting a striker bug......

It's not. I'll see if I can find the thread. Also, the Canik, which shares the exact firing mechanism is under recall right now.

To make it clear, the pistol would not discharge unless the striker channel block simultaneously malfunctioned.
The p320 fires bullets and shoots people in the knees when you drop it. The Walther drops the striker, but doesn't fire the gun. I'd say its a bit more drop safe than the p320. (but still not as drop safe as a glock )

Evaluations and tests have shown that repeated abusive dropping of pistols may result in damage to safety features and unintentional discharge.
Century says you have to drop the gun enough times to damage and deform internal parts and then it may discharge. Thats quite a bit of dropping before it becomes dangerous.

Do you carry with a round in the chamber? If so, then if you ever have to pull your gun out in an emergency, you'll have to ask yourself if you've dropped or banged it against something since you chambered that round. It might not fire when you pull the trigger the first time.

I wanted one these in the 5" version but have held off buying it because last several Walthers haven't impressed me enough over HK.

Simple solution is don't carry one in the chamber and train Israeli carry.

Safer all around. (Of course this is arguable)

I'm going to test it out with a mini torture test when I get it.

For daily carry, it's my Tristar C-100, decocked with a round chambered. Can't get much safer then that

I bought a PPQ right when it came out and LOVED it. First bullet out of this gun was a bullseye, this is rare for me bc I SUCK. Melted in my hand and trigger was the best factory trigger at the time, but I could not get used to the paddle mag release. Ended up selling

Might have to jump on this deal, thanks for posting steve.

My local shop had the 5" version for $565, I was really tempted with the $100 rebate offer.

Came back the next weekend with cash burning a hole in my pocket, but someone else beat me to it.

All I gotta say is that I thought my VP9's trigger was nice. This thing is smooth and hell. Wow

Yup. I love mine. It's my carry and it's an excellent shooter. I too am looking for a 5inch one. I can only imagine how bad ass that pistol would be and how accurate.

got it for a spin. First shot I took says it all

Here is the rest of the first mag (distance was 7 yards)

I love it. I never thought I'd find a pistol that shoots sweeter than my VP9, but this one might have ties it or possibly beat it

I bought one as well about a year ago, it was a promotional gun at the mom and pop carry out. Paid 300.00 for it. I should have bought both. They shoot really well and they are accurate.

Stupid question is you plan on eventually owning both... If you plan on owning both, you'll be out of $100 if you buy the 357 now...
