That moment when you realize Classic is the only place that has the gun you want.....

There is this though.

Wish I had bought a couple more of the $200 SG Maks last winter. Buying surplus off of Classic is a gamble. The brushed steel M70A Tokarev I just got off of them was so bad my FFL actually felt bad and cleaned it up before I picked it up lol. After I got home I gave it a going over and it actually turned out really nice.

Some times you win with them and some times you lose. I guess its that way to a point with all sellers of surplus.

Yeah, I never found this to be true. I've bought 3 9x18 pistols from them in the last year and was very satisfied. I guess I got lucky, 3 times.

These were listed as good/very good:

I bought a Bulgarian Makarov from Ben a while back. Later sold it but it was in pretty good shape. Some very slight bluing loss on the muzzle from being holstered and a small mark on one of the grips. Other than that it was GTG.

Arsenal Bulgarian Makarov PM 918mm (2)

I also bought one of the dreaded "$500 Waffen Werks AK-74 Specials" that I have run through 2 SPAM cans without a hitch. I love that rifle. I am probably still gonna buy a Bulgarian barrel, Childrers receiver, and triangle side-folder stock and rear trunnion just to have them on hand when I eventually shoot the barrel out of this thing.

Also bought one of those surplus Beretta 92S police trade-ins from them. I keep hearing they are hit-and-miss but all my dealings with them have been good to go.

I'm not a Classic fan, but shopping is easy, and better than Bud's or Wholesale Hunter. I bought 2 Yugo M70A's with hand select. With the 2nd I had to demand slide safety and lanyard ring. Both were new and shoot perfect, however inaccurate. I also bought a $275 Makarov (not handsellect). It is new and shoots well and as usual is accurate. However the finish is a dull type of parkerizing. My first Mak is a deep blue and was like new.

Always a fan of the original Makarov PM pistol. Mine have always managed to become trading fodder for something bigger, and better, but get them while prices are affordable. They won't always be cheap, and they are certainly worth owning.

I've had good luck with firearms from Classic. I've heard that other people have had problems. No experience with exchanges or customer service. I do get tired of Ben's drivel.

My Bulgarian did Not come from Classic.

If some of you guys are skeptical of the DA triggers or Bulgys' overall conditions at Classic, you might just want to save up for an EG. Both of mine (EGs) have better DA trigger pulls than my Bulgy.

Or even better: for the price of a really nice EG, buy a nice CZ-75 Compact (9mm Luger, 14-rd. mag.), slightly used, for the same price.

They are so cheap because century just imported a bunch of them. I forget what number they told me but you can expect those to hit the market before long.

I can put up with a lot of sweat stains and bullshit if I get a nice pistol that I can't find anywhere else.

If you cannot find a cz82 or a bulgarian makarov elsewhere, it's because you're not looking.

As in enough to lower the price for a while? Would love another 2-3 bulgy shooters.
