Most likely yes, if the boxes are in good condition it can sell for around $10 a box to collectors.

Can you link recent past sales at $10 per box?

I paid 250 for 500 confirmed steel core, and I thought that was a bargain. There is your proof.

And, the only way to confirm its steel core, is to section a projectile.

I knew guys who pulled all their steel core out of the boxes, substituted lead core, and sold the ammo as steel core.

So, you can't even trust the box its in.

If its not steel core, personally, its not worth 50 cents a round, but at a quarter? Snatch it up.

All kinds of different Norinco ammo.

Grey box, yellow box, green and white box, lite blue box, red box, black and white box and I am still probably missing several.

Guys around here know there stuff but you have to be a little more precise with descriptions of boxes or headstamps or have pics.

Headstamp a bit more important as yellow box had lead core...

And also steel core

I remember an old now dead link I used to reference whenever this comes up. It’s basically where a guy cut apart a bunch projectiles of different color boxes of Norinco x39, from mostly unopened crates, and ran several tests vs steel plates. Long story short, and it was briefly mentioned already, he said you’d have to basically do the same as he did. He brought up questionable QC from China, stating they didn’t care what they sold to us as long as it sold. They didn’t give a single fuck if the box matched the type of bullet. As always YMMV

I still have a bunch of yellow box steel core that I shoot... it was a 1.99-2.50 a box back in the day. There is nothing special about it, I've pulled the bullets and checked the weight of powder and bullets.

2 grains +/- on powder and up to 5 grains +/- on bullets, now these where extreme variations but it's still cheap blasting ammo. nothing special.

My favorite was always the copper washed, on sks clips. Stuff was zippy, steel core. Soldered tins, wrapped in Brown paper.

In 20 years of selling ammo the most I HAVE EVER got for true steel core is .35 a rd. It's so hard to sell around here for more than .25 a rd I won't even try and buy it anymore. If you can get for 5 bucks a box buy it to shoot. Just don't think your gonna make any money off it.

I have quite a bit of those. Not steel core BTW. I really love the smell of it when fired. Nothing like it.
Forget re-selling it for profit.
Have some orange box too.
Goddam now I'll have to look and see what I still have.
