18.00 isn't bad, but two different vendors have them on ebay right now for 11.35 and 11.40 shipped.

Vickers or VTAC both are competitively priced and work well.

I run soe gear single or two point bungee slings on most of my guns except for two. The two that don't have soe slings one has a vickers vcas two point sling and the other has a quake industries "the claw" sling on it.

If money is not a problem, then I'd go with a Magpul MS3 tethered to the Rifle with 550 paracord. If money is a problem then Vickers or VTAC. I have used all three.

Vickers / Blue Force padded with steel buckles. I didn't like it at first, but after I trimmed it and tried it a little more, it grew on me. The quick adjust is good to have for fitting over lots of layers or repositioning easily.

It is useless as a regular sling on a hunting rifle though. It's really at it's best on a semi-auto military style rifle.

I also don't like the Magpul clip and went for the blue force MASH clip with a cover instead. Seems solid.

Your right they are long as hell. I never could figure out how to trim it to make it shorter so I adjusted it as short as it'd go which was still to long and took the excess and s shape folded it up and took the 6.00 keeper blue force sells and it made it liveable. Mine has the metal buckles and hk hooks on both ends.

I have the same experience. Although I've used fancy ones, but I find the 5$ surplus slings to be just as effective. I run surplus slings as single points, and they are very versatile.

I use old canvas USGI general purpose slings on everything, from my Norinco MAK-90, mutt-SOCOM AR15, and old Mossberg 500 7-shot 12 gauge.

For me it's a tie between the following, Vickers for practical use, whichever appropriate com-bloc sling for rifle correctness.

This is what you need to decide first, correctness or practicality before your purchase.

I don't "Run" anything on my firearms. However if you want to know what sling I use, mustard or OD green Russian web slings. Just as God intended.

Possibly the best sling for the money is a carry strap, general purpose.
Cut the clips off the ends and attach with 550 cord to desired length.

It's quality and made from good material. I adjusted mine until it was useable, marked it with a sharpie, and trimmed it with first aid shears. Burned the frayed edge with a lighter and snapped it on. The covers are useful for reducing noise and keeping the clip from chewing the hell out of your handguard.

Vickers slings without a doubt. The combloc slings are great for show but in my experience they cut into my shoulder after a couple hours, also some tend to be low quality. The magpul slings were comfortable enough but I felt were too heavy and not designed well, just wasn't a fan. If you have the money, the Haley Strategic D3 sling is pretty nice, designed well, light and padded.

The $10 Amazon special! I have it on most of my rifles. If you like 2 point slings it works.
