Default Norinco Hunter Galil Conversion questions

Hello all, I know this has probably been beat to death... But I have a Norinco Hunter in 7.62x39. What do I need to purchase to convert this to a Galil? Does the barrel profile match the 5.56 galil to use galil gas block and tube?
Any help is appreciated!!!

Currently converting a hunter. the FSB is the proper size to press on, however I’m having trouble finding if it will press on fully due to the barrel diameter increasing after the gas block. So I’m not sure the gas port will mate properly with the fsb

Just buy a galil parts kit. All parts match up accordingly. You will have a few unuse parts but if you sell the leftovers it will help to recoup the price if the galil kit.

you will need a full parts kit.
The only thing you will not use is the bolt.
Barrel profiles are close enough. You may need to file off a little material from the rear of the gb. Hg retainer is a slightly larger diameter so you will just file a shallow retainer notch into the barrel.
for the rear end you can just cut a sliver off the galil stub and zap it onto the hunter or weld in a full stub. Which only really makes sense to do if the stub was really ling.

Next you can cut up the Galil center section and use the belly as a template to make left side selector cuts. The same can be done for the sides,
If you want to use the Galil flash hider the barrel will need to be pulled and turned 13x1. Or leave it in place and diy 14x1 LH. (easier)
If its a Gen 1 hunter the mag catch tower holes will need to be welded over and all 4 drilled new. If its a gen 2 hunter the front holes will line up and just drill the rear.
Base of the gas tube notch will need to be trimmed to slide forward enough to fit top cover and meet gas block.

During amateur hour... I was able to do a couple of them.

They are more work than a standard Galil build but its the most cost efficient way to get a classic style Galil in 7.62x39 currently.
The painful part is making the belly cuts. As I just use a dremel and play operation.. It can be time consuming and noisy.
Also you will need to trim the mag catch for ak mags to snap in just like on a Saiga conversion.

You can even do weird stuff with them... A blank canvas if you are creative (or like good scotch)
Both these were done with a stick welder (Too lazy to fill argon tank) Which I would advise against unless you are very experienced.
some motivation
