Default WASR 2 canted sight

I've got a WASR 2 with a front sight canted enough that it won't zero at 25 meters.

The front it's pushed all the way left, and it's still about 1.5" from hitting at point of aim.

On the good side-it groups beautifully.

If I were to straighten the front sight, will the gas prices still be aligned, or will it need to be moved too?

The front sight base is is separate from the gas block. So moving the front sight base will not have any effect on the operation of the rifle.

what he said. i think you are thinking of the combo sight/gas blocks. the gas block is irrelevant in this case since it functions and cycles, leave it be. even if you straighten your front sight and its no longer visually appealing in line with the gas block, leave it be.

Got it.

I was thinking of a combo-which this isn't.

You're both right.

Thank you.

Kind of a "Doh!" moment.

Well it’s a Romy, get the FSB where it needs to be, grab some ammo and leave some fun!

Tools : Ball peen hammer, ak sight tool, punch set, 3mm drill bit, laser bore sight.

Un pin the front sight, mark barrel and front sight with pencil line, and tap it a bit until your laser boresight lines up. Then Re drill the holes and re pin. That's how I do mine.

Don’t forget to recenter drum before moving FSB, otherwise you’ll still be all the way left

You might want to center the drum, remove the pins and straighten the FSB. Then go shoot it before repinning it. If the press fit is where it should be it will stay during firing.
