Wow, I saw those 3 rifles listed on Armslist Olympia and thought they might have been a scam. The price just sounded too good. When I rechecked 2 hours later the ad was gone already. Great score man! I would have loved to jump on all 3 of them.

They went fast, me and a buddy were going to grab both the SKS and by the time my buddy got back to me with the OK the red one and the Mak90 sold. So I figuired I better commit fast and get out the door. Seller was way cool, he was selling off a few guns to but an expensive bolt gun. They were Def the good deals of the day.

He didn't take the bolt apart, but that's pretty simple. Drive out the pin that holds the extractor in place and the firing pin will come out. Notice the log and the position of the flat spot for reassembly.

On a side note, Oli do you recommend a Murray's spring and pin replacement or do you just leave them stock and clean regularly?

Beautiful arsenal refurb. Nice pick up

As has been mentioned give it a good cleaning to get all the caked cosmoline out that is likely hiding in all the nooks and crannies.

I don't bother disassembling the bolt but it is very important to clean it out unless you want slam fires and/or possible full auto mag dumps.

My method is to take the bolt out, put it in a jar with mineral spirits and soak overnight.

Take it out the next day and have at it with compressed air to blow out the firing pin channel.

Never oil or grease the firing pin and you should be good to go.

Be warned, just as I've heard AK's multiply like rabbits, so does the SKS

Now go find a Yugo M59, an M59/66, a Romanian, an Albanian, and a Chinese and a....

Nice
That is sweet.
You got a good deal.

I have two Chinese and a Rasheed. I would like to find an Albanian, but they are no longer reasonably priced.

I had one once. I had a couple of pierce primers with Tulammo and it coked the spring, jamming the pin.
Not sure if this caused it or not but I later discovered a crack in the bolt face.
All mine are currently stock.

Thanks, I think I'll just keep them stock also and just clean regularly. I did have a 1950 Tula that had a factory firing pin and spring, interesting that they discontinued that feature on later models.

If your looking for stripper clips check the MP here and put a WTB. BXN clips are the way to go. EBay has a bunch too.

Yep, the SKS is a little heavier which helps in the recoil, and it doesn't slap ya like an AK.

Looks pretty normal other than the upside down bayonet. Saw one just like it at a gun show today 25th year of production and all.
