Default Svd to Psl Brackets. Late June -Mid July

Hello,

I'm looking into making another batch of svd handguard brackets. Would like to gauge intrest prior to committing funds to the project. I am an employee of a local manufacture facility and have the means to produce several sets. Price would not exceed 110.00 + shipping per set, regardless of quantity ordered. Plz pm me if u are interested in a set. Will post up pictures of progress soon.

If you have looked at the old wood hand guards and compare them to the newer plastic guards you will see the forward portion has a different shape. Wood guards form a smooth oval. The plastic SVD guards have a weird oval with angles, and made of steel.
I would buy a set if shaped to properly fit plastic guards. The shape of the adapters made previously do not work. the receiver end fits well but the forward split adapter does not work.

Default SVD handguards

Lantz.

Sorry, i am not familiar with the Rhine land hand guard fitment, I would probably need a set to assure fitment.

Streetfighters,

I am Aware of the issue with the polymer hand guards. After comparing to a wooden set i can see some issues with the fitment. However, did you attempt to bend the metal tabs into the bracket grooves? It would look to me as though there was plenty of material to allow a tight fit. The fitment of both polymer and wood on my NDM are done with the same bracket. If i would get several requests for a standardized polymer set (would mount without requiring the tabs being bent) i would consider changing he design to accomplish this as an alternative.

Thank you

I have started the drawings in solid works about two weeks ago. Will update later in the week.

Hey there thedude405. Yeah, the steel used in the forward end of the polymer guards is very thick and does not yield to conventional mangling methods using duckbill pliers. Additionally, I cut and ground on the metal to no real avail. I suppose I should be happy because I have a very nice set of the wood guards installed. I just really want to try those stupid synthetic guards. Next stop is epoxy to form the oval section.

Default Psl brackets

Thank you Island,

I'll as admit these are not a difficult part to make but very time consuming. Everything for a batch run is ready to go. I may develop some fixtures that would increase productivity. This would only happen if I get the ten plus sets required. I'm looking into a set of press plates that would easily bend the poly handguards metal tabs to match the wooden ones.

I will take one as well if you could bore out the barrel portion slightly for a thicker profile barrel.
