Default Do I grab it?

Greetings. Long time lurker, have learned a lot, so I decided to participate. Thanks for the add.

I have a couple of rifles and am always keeping an eye out. I'm a "buy American made" kind of guy, except for AKs.

I have an opportunity to purchase an as new, unfired N-PAP DF. Prices I see, both for sale and previous sales are sort of all over the place. I know the guys asking a grand are just fishing, but, what is a real world fair price for this rifle today?

Century RI2174-N
This is from 14 months ago.....scroll down for the prices sold without the 75Rd drum.

https://gun.deals/product/yugo-zasta...-rd-drum-57995

Asking $1000 I'd laugh......personally I'd say it's a $650 rifle tops.
WASR's with solid stocks can be bought for around that are are proven more reliable.

People play this hyped up price market game when a product is discontinued or no longer sold.

Nearing the $1000 range look at a SAM7 underfolder.

$600 - NPAP DF on Armslist - registered seller, and just posted this week.

Most will ship if you work it out, and safely deliver payment after shipping FFL receives it.

Although $1k is too high a price today the DF is different (e.g., X Y receiver stamps) than the fixed stock NPAP Rob Ski did his test on, which caused all the Internet hand-wringing. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a DF —- someday imported combloc made rifles will be unobtainable.

$600 for the DF would be a nice price in 2019.

Agreed with others, no more than $650 for just the rifle.

Thanks. I knew what they were going for new before being discontinued. Just curious about current conditions. Not many showing up in "completed sales" on GB. Just the 3 or 4 guys looking for $900+ new. Will see what I can do.

I bought one a few months ago for 500 on armslist wasn’t for me so I traded it to a guy for about 625 trade value. If that helps. Mine was used but in good shape

$600-$650 is fair in this market, but still higher than I'd like for it. $1000 and I'd laugh in his face

Just paid $700.00 for a new one off GunBroker. A little more than I wanted to pay but I am not unhappy. Very nice gun! Should be great fun. Mak 90 is probably a better value but I wanted an underfolder. The fact that it was new added value for me. If I could find another new one for any less, I would probably buy it. Very cool guns!

As the others said $600 to $650 max. Any more and you might as well step up to a Vepr or Arsenal.

I agree that $650 would be my max price.

.
Yeah that thicker barrel on the Npap's (though not chrome lined) is a nice feature.

It's the kind of barrel the SAM-7's should have on them IMO.

650 max. My 2016 npap df is closing in on 13k rounds soon. It runs like a sewing machine. I don't remember it ever malfunctioning.

Nope, wasn't even looking for one. I was actually keeping an eye out for a SLR-101S because I fooled around and missed one priced right awhile back and I was pissed off at myself for it.

Then I heard about this. Always thought the Yugo underfolders were just a classic, so I got interested, one thing led to another and here we are. Sent an "I'll take it" message. Waiting for a response.

I'd say anything $700 or below would be a fair deal, especially being unfired and currently unavailable at retail.

Made a road trip today and brought it back. Paid what most would think a fair price, considering it came with numerous extras. Mint, unfired, very low serial number. I'm satisfied with this purchase. Now to decide, keep it unfired or take it out and run it.

I don't have time to be buying guns and not shooting them. As far as investments go, there are better things to sink your money into and get a higher return than a safe queen gun. Shoot the fucker. Buy some real estate or franchise a papa johns if you want to invest money.

Congrats on your purchase. Very cool guns! The good news is it is yours now and you can do what you want. At least until the next Presidential Executive Order or ATF reclassification. I don't shoot everything I own and am not sorry for keeping some unfired. I am not defenseless. Pride of ownership is a personal thing. You don't even have to decide now. Just remember, you can never un-shoot them.

I'm no AK expert but my yugo UF runs like a dream I got (over) 5000 rounds on her now. I really cant see how any stock AK can run better only draw back IMO is furniture.

Fire or don't fire it as you feel like.
Just know keeping it unfired won't really increase the value/worth.

Yes sir. I understand - it's not a NIB Python or Registered Magnum and the same rules don't apply. This one looks like it came out of the box, went into the safe and stayed there until yesterday. Still has metal chips in the receiver from being machined.

The consensus is to enjoy it, and I will. Have to get some other winter projects function checked and finished first. Too much left laying around unfinished gets on my nerves. I'll get some photos up when I get a few moments.

Congrats on the new acquisition. As long as you're happy, then it's a good day.

Congrats. As others have said take it out and enjoy it. That’s what makes this hobby worth it to me. Nothing like a good day of shooting.
