Default Aimpoint PRO w/ RS Regulate on a SAM-7SF ?

Just got the "shipped" notice from Atlantic for my new SAM 7 SF 84

Meanwhile, in the closet, I have an unemployed Aimpoint PRO - just sitting there...doing nuthin'...looking at me...

Any thoughts on using this optic on the SAM7 SF ?

Looks like I'll need an RS Regulate AKM30mm mount and one of the 300 series rails - perhaps the AK-303M ?

Will Monday ever come?

Will I be able to put this lazy-ass Aimpoint back to work?

Thanks for any feedback, guys.

Rotate the optic in the mount or you will sight it in twice.

I like it.... Used with the RS regulate mount it has a cowitness and it's solid. If you already have the aimpoint, all you need to worry about is getting the mount setup you want!

Edited to add: the guy above is right, double check your battery cap clearance!

As mentioned above, just rotate the PRO 90 degrees to the left so you can get the battery cap off and you'll love it!

I found that the sling loop on the the SAM7sf makes the RS Regulate mount extremely difficult to put on and take off.

It does take a bit more finesse but I don't find it extremely difficult.

As long as the sling loop is horizontal it’s no different than any other AK

I run an Aimpoint Comp ML3 (basically a PRO) on one of my SFs. They are a great fit.

Yeah, with no sling.

This has been my experience. You can make it happen it's just harder than with some of the other mounts. I love the RS Regulate mount it but may not be the best fit for the this rifle unless you move the location of sling mount.

It isn't as slick as a rifle with no sling mount there but mine works the same with or without the sling.

The Chevy truck commercial sez -

I really like that RS Regulate mount - it's even nicer than it appears in pics.

Can't wait to get out to the range and try it out.

Have you guys using this setup found it necessary to drill the mount and install the supplied pin ?

I've got plenty of RS mounts and none of them have been drilled for the pin. All still rock solid, with thousands of combined rounds through them. I just use a little bit of blue loctite and that's just in case.

Either one of these makes a convenient QD for the rear point on the SF.

I have four RS mounts and have yet to need the drill n pin. They have been through multiple classes without issues.
