Bought 5 pears for the deer at the cabin planted about 15 pears in past couple years, kind of worried about the bears tearing them down. Got a bunch of real old apple trees there but they donít produce every year and bears screwed up a couple of the 5 yr old newer apple trees. The old apple trees are about 2í diameter. Have 150 blue berry coming in that I repot and resell to nurseries, patriot and blue crop mostly but they wonít be ready to sell till late June.

^^^Glad I donít have to worry about bears. Tree tubes with cage wire works for everything around here.

^That’s awesome! I don’t have the water for pumpkins + for some strange reason, the coyotes eat pumpkins.
Really beautiful crop Flashy.

They like watermelons, and cantelopes too. I knew farmers in NM that planted them in belts around chile fields to keep them out of the chiles. (Yep, they like chiles as well.)

Great thread!

I'm trying to get my first garden going this year. I just tilled and framed in a little 10'x20' area I'm trying. My father has been doing a garden about that size at his house for 20 some odd years in the same neighborhood so I just followed what he does. I threw in my old leaves from last fall and I'll be getting some steer fertilizer most likely. We will see how it goes.
I'm just trying to figure out my irrigation system now. I already have a timer set up for my grass and I made the garden area it's own zone so I can water it on a timer. Just need to decide how I want my drip or soaker lines to run.
Wish me luck.
