Default 1:7 Galil Barrel Special Order

1) We still... need... barrels...

2) I need OEM factory prints for:
a- SAR Barrel
b- AR/ ARM Barrel

3) 50 barrels are needed to make this a GO. Once the prints are reviewed by the manufacturer (a major manufacturer of excellent quality barrels), I will post a ballpark price and create a shared Google Doc for folks to post their intent to buy. I will maintain a non-public-facing Google Doc containing POC info for each interested buyer.

4) Barrels will be 5.56 chamber, 1:7 twist, Nitrided (OK...), no gas port, no notch cut, correct factory dimensions. (Maybe if this takes off we can talk 7.62x39mm barrels and 15.X" SAR barrels and other stuff... .300BLK?). Also see #2.

5) I'm not trying to insert myself as some middle man marking up the work of a skilled craftsman/ major manufacturer. I'm not doing this through my company, I'm only doing this as a hobbyist, and I will pay for my own barrels. I want nothing but quality barrels to complete my kits. You probably do too. 50 is not a high number to get to.

6) No junkies allowed. Only a quality barrel will be the end result of this endeavor. Nobody is trying to save a few dollars or a drill bit by not nitriding. See #4.

7) What are your questions?

Call me and I can share some domestic costings we've experienced, which may give you a better sense of where you'll end up.

Definitely in for a SAR barrel. Maybe in for an AR/ARM barrel if the one I have does not work out. Original threads, not 1/2-28.

I actually hadn't thought hard about the threads, but they would be proper Metric 13x1 Right Hand.

Biggest thing now is going to be locating a factory print, so please share with any Galil Gurus you might know.

I have also started a thread on Uzi Talk.

As mentioned above, depending on cost, I'd be in for a 5.56 ARM and SAR barrel. Original threads here as well.

Nobody wishes that more than me.

I don't think it's going to work out for this one (which I would just like to make happen). But maybe in the future?

These will be correct threading. They will not be CHF.

No point in saying "I'll take the polygonal rifling one" or whatever- see #4.

I took some dimensions from a Galil barrel I had to turn my own from a Shilen stainless steel blank in 1:8 twist.

If this helps / use it~

I've seen tons of interest in the project... that's for phase 2 though.

I'm still looking for a good print.
