I like my Hawk 982. The finish is a bit different in spots and it's not an Exact clone, but I'd buy another one for sure. It's reliable, and the sights are nice. And it goes boom every time.

I think shotguns are one of the best HD weapons, but Pump or Semi is more of personal preference. Semi is just as reliable, most of them can hold more shotgun shells and faster. I don't care if you tell me if you fast with pump, you be much faster with finger then hand.

But some semi's fail to cycle reliably with some reduced-recoil or "low brass" Wallyworld/50-year-old SHTF-pickup ammo...
Pumps eat&digest anything.

But, yes!, you have to learn/practice to run a pump as fast as a semi-auto.

I got a 930 SPX 2nd gen and it's reliable even with birdshot. Got a sidesaddle for extra rounds and cheapo barrel clamp for flashlight from wally world. No complaints and the times i took it to the range, ppl would want to try it (haven't seen a lot of semi auto shotty i guess).

I'm glad that you said SOME fail to cycle cheap crap.

My Charles Daly will eat anything (now).

The thing with the CD's is they're chambered for up to 3 1/2" magnums.

In other words, they have a very strong recoil spring.

I have since experimented with mine and kept the standard spring just as it came from the factory, and I also bought a replacement spring from Numrich that I cut a little off at a time.

The short spring cycles low brass and reduced recoil and standard 2 3/4" loads, and while I have no intentions of ever using a 3 1/2" mag, that spring stays in my safe for just in case I ever do go goose hunting. (which is highly doubtful that will ever happen).

some yes, depending on Semi-auto you shoot. I have Remington Versa max, and I shot all, low brass, high brass and etc. No problems.

My Vepr 12, I had few things done and shoots the same.

You can't run a pump as fast as semi-auto. Finger is faster then hand motion. I am not saying you can't be fast with Pump, but Semi will always beat it.
