Uh, no.

On the stubs i have, it looks like it is flared out on the inside similar to how the mag catch pin is done

on the stubs I have it also looks like its peened (flared out) from the inside.

I can fuse it from the inside with the tig torch in 2 seconds, and it looks the same from the outside.

Got some time to mess around with my Galil 80. The tooling marks were driving me crazy so I surface ground it. Its like a mirror now! Really looking forward to finishing this build up!

Nice work as usual Zim. Put a handle on it and it would be the coolest rear view mirror ever!

Both sides had some dish to them. I had to take .0066" off one side to clean up and then .0042" off the other. Totally unnecessary. Purely cosmetic.

Will removing that much make the top cover loose and effect the zero hold on the rear sight?

No. Its really not that much. If anything, I can easily flex the top cover a little for a tighter fit.

You will soon. Tortort is doing the Fixed Stock Type 3 milled AK-47 receiver now. The Tortort website seems to indicate they are still accepting orders for these.
Some of us are also hoping for a Tortort threaded underfolder Type 3 milled receiver too. Ben of Tortort has said they might entertain doing a run of threaded Type 3 milled underfolder receivers after the threaded fixed stock receivers are out of the way and after seeing how this first run turns out.

I do have an original barreled Hungarian AK-55 parts set it has a threaded breach journal. This barrel does have a few minor pits down the bore, but it does pass the bullet test and has a nice shiny chrome lined bore. My one concern is that this barrel will most likely not time or headspace into the receiver to my liking since it's a used barrel that's already been clocked.

Most likely I'm going to turn down the M26x1.5 threads make it a press & pin barrel. That way I can keep the barrel clocked in the same position it was in the factory. I already depopulated the barrel assembly which I had a pretty damn good time finding a means to support these blocks so I could press out the dowel pins that were in there like no tomorrow. I'd like to consult with Sir RForbus to see if he'd be willing to manufacture a batch of milled AK 47 gas block & front sight base support block to make life far easier. Similar to the same product he has for AKM & AK 74 barrel component blocks.

Ak 80% with the same thread as a ar-15 would be nice. 1"3/16-16. Make it super easy to put a tube on for a arm braced pistol build or a regular buffer tube for rifles.

Also make some 7.6254r 80% mosin nagant receivers for obrez pistols builds.

I feel the need to add my vote for VZ58 receivers as well.

Not trying to kick ya in the pisser but a Mosin Nagant 80 is a dumb idea. Depression era Russian wages and material costs are hard to contend with in 2017...

If you started with 34,0mm, you are not far under the allowed size and it should not matter.

The specification width for the Izhevsk Type III is 34,0mm +0,0mm/-0,1mm. With a tolerance callout like this, they had to be precision-ground after heat-treating.

Most of variants I have measured such as the Zastava drift more than this, and few show the evidence of precision grinding, although sanding operations are apparent for some of them.

mainly for the Russian, Bulgy, Polish, Hungarian T3 milled kits.
but could use stamped AKM kits. RSB is a bit wider so you will have a not very visible gap on the ears.
most people would never notice it.

milled profile has thicker barrel also

regarding the side folder 7.62.
is the plan on building these using a milled RSB yet or for using AKM RSB?
