Hmmm.... I wonder if K-VAR made a mistake. I believe that the SLR106UR Pistol uses a 23mm Front Trunnion not 22mm.

Look at these and it's hard to resist, the sam7 is basically a perfect clone without the stock...

I feel like if I'm spending the $900 I might as well get the flashlight. If I changed my mind you could unload it and get the money back easy. Plus it really looks like an ARM4SF.

There's a guy that actually sells the correct Bulgarian stock and receiver block for these in the mp. It should work fine without it but you'd need to do some work on the receiver to add the forward locking latch assembly if you wanted.

If you plan to get a SLR106UR pistol, I have the tutorial for it.

Here's the tutorial thread: http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=295987

Yes, I saw that. I believe that their are 4 flat rivets/pins that you will need to remove in order for you to remove the rear block on the SAM7K.

Nice work man! Now legally you can add the buffer tube to the Pistol but what if you start with an SLR104UR, can you legally add a buffer or just take the stock off and chop the barrel? My gut says no.

It only applies to pistol AK's not rifles. You can not chop the SLR104UR's 16" barrel and install a KAK tube and Shockwave brace... That's BIG NO, NO!

Thanks to everyone for the info. Very helpful.

I'd really be happy just to add an AR adapter and shockwave brace until the SBR paperwork comes back. Then go with an AR style stock

Unfortunately, you are right about the SAM7K. It's a 10" barrel with a non-threaded FS/GB and a pinned faux booster over the barrel.

If you are willing to take on the project, you can press out and replace the non-threaded FS/GB to the threaded FS/GB and cut and crown the barrel using the brass screw method.

What would be involved in converting a 5.56 pistol into a 5.45 one? Just swap out the barrel and bolt?

you'd need a 23mm 5.45 barrel

Yup, as what "rstrobel" mentioned. The current SLR106UR pistol uses a 23mm trunnion. You will need to find a 5.45 barrel that will fit the 23mm trunnion. The 5.45 krink barrel that K-VAR has is 22mm. So it won't work.

and you can't swap the trunnion out because it's the serialized part of the receiver...

Yes, the 5.56 and the 7.62 pistols use a 23mm trunion while the 5.45 barrels are 22mm.

AWESOME! I submitted the Form 1 last week Monday, 05/15 for my SLR106UR pistol. BATF cashed my check on Thursday 05/18 and now the 8-12 month wait begins.

Interesting, I emailed them about layaway 5/23 and was told these pistols were not eligible.
My neighbor emailed the next day and was told the same thing.
"They don't have enough instock" was the reason iircc
