Default Discussion: Only one and under 10 rounds?

So, as the title says, if you could own only one handgun and have it's capacity under ten rounds for general all around use. What would you choose? Personally, I would go with a sig P220R in .45acp. Actually getting (another) one next weekend too once it arrives at my FFL. Doesn't matter your states laws or where you're from just curious to what everyone would go with!

Are we talking about One and Only One 10 round or below stock capacity, or 10 round magazine with guns that can carry more?

If it's the former I guess P220 or P239.

The latter would be a CZ 75.

One gun. Semi or revolver. Any caliber. As many mags or speedloaders you seem necessary. But w/ a max capacity of 10 rounds.

+1 on BHP

CZ 75 if restricted mags fit within the rules.

Lightweight Commander. Fully loaded, it is lighter than most "compact" pistols. Extra mags are thin and easy to carry. It's accurate, controllable, and a lot of fun to shoot.

See. Your classy hebie82 and your smart enough to enjoy an S/A pistol with a nice crisp breaking glass trigger. 3 o'clock IWB, loaded up with 230 grain schp. I can draw and shoot mice within 20 ft with my edc. Ask me how I know. If 8 shots and a reload can't get me out of danger or to a shotgun it's god's will.

If limited to 10rds I'd bump up from 9mm to .45.

For all around use I'd go with a PPQ .45 with mags blocked to 10rds hands down.

If it never got to around 100 degrees here, I'd say that a Commander sized 1911 in .45 ACP would be my choice. But, if really limited to just ONE pistol that must fit the bill year round, in all clothing, at all times, for all uses... I'd keep my Glock 43 single stack 9mm. It is a bit on the large side for pocket carry, but it CAN be done in cargo shorts, it shoots like a full size gun but is quite compact (like a single stack model 26). With a 6+1 capacity, I feel well protected, yet I can add 2 additional rounds AND get a full grip using my Strike Industries +2 base plates when concealment is less of a concern.

While I'd normally say that I'd prefer the larger caliber of the Commander 1911, and there is no beating the single action trigger on one... The Glock 43 is simply a more versatile pistol that could be easily carried regardless of clothing type, or how much concealment might be needed.

I'd take a sub compact Glock, and choose your caliber the G29 SF in 10mm would be my pick and I'd get a 22lr conversion kit from AA as well. That covers alot of needs, it's got hard hitting 10mm, it's concealable, and there'd be ample very cheap 22lr practice ammo.

Browning Hi Power. 10 or less, or 10 or more, either way.

Cool Hk USP Compact Stainless LEM 45 ACP

Have a Hk USP Compact Stainless LEM 45 ACP I like a lot.

Full Disclosure:
Just picked up a LNIB factory nickel 1987 W German P220 45.
Getting some orange rear green front Meprolight NS installed as we speak.
After shooting that bad boy I may have to change my pick

Also have a Sig P239 357 that gets honorable mention

Eh to each their own. I enjoy the sig 220 even as a lefty personally. Have a west german myself that i may trade off once i get my new one. I enjoy the usp compact as well and had one for several years I ended up trading in part for a nib slr-104 at my lgs. But that's why we live in a free country. Also hell yes the p239 is a fun lil guy

Another vote for a caliber swappable gun.

Sig P250 does 22lr, 380acp, 9mm, 40, 357sig, and 45acp and function reliably. And it goes from subcompact to full size.
Sig P320 that was originally 45acp can do 9mm, 357, and 40 and also has different size frames.

Large frame Glock like 20, 21, and 41 have the same frames. With one of those, you can do 45, 10mm, and a 22lr reliably. Throw some conversion barrels/springs at it, and you got 9mm, 40, and 357sig. You can even do 50gi. Since you only have 1 gun, you gotta blow your extra money on something.
Throw a Roni at it and now you got an ugly, but functional, carbine.
