Default S&W M&P Midsize

Sportsmansguide posted M&P 45 Mid-size police trade ins about a week ago for $226 shipped so I had to roll the dice. Description was that it would have holster wear, come with one magazine that wasn't guaranteed to function, and nothing else. What I received was a barely used M&P in excellent condition with an original M&P box, owner's manual, and extra back straps. Came with night sights as well that glow brightly.

This is Durham NC marked, but they obviously didn't use it or carry it too long. Have to say I consider this a steal for $256 OTD. Only complaint I have is that I didn't order a few more. If I decide I like this enough, I am purchasing a few 14rd mags, a couple boxes of HSTs, a TLR-1, and making this a night stand gun. I picked up additional 10rd mags off of eBay for $14 each.

I am also looking for recommendations on a good OWB holster that will fit this either with a TLR-1 or without. I am having trouble finding a holster that is made specifically for the shorter slide and not sure if it will fit in an M&P9 holster.

Do police trade ins typically have department engravings? I never bought one before I don't know, serious question lol.

A "S&W M&P Midsize" is a M&P with a 3" barrel.

Common M&P with 4" barrel

First post fits in a tweet.

OP got a S&W M&P MS in 45ACP with NS for $256 OTD from a PD in NC. Gonna load it up with HST's and put a TLR-1 on it, maybe carry it OWB.

Go to google or a similar search engine, type in S&W M&P Midsize and almost every result is for the M&P 45 Midsize

Nope. They don't make a "midsize" in the semi-auto pistol line. They make a fullsize (which is what's pictured in the OP), a compact, and the shield. OP shows M&P 45 on the slide which makes it a full size. It would say M&P 45c if it were a compact.

It is the mid size 45. The full is :

Wrong. The full size is longer than the 9mm/.40 full size versions, and looks goofy... Like a longslide competition pistol. The midsize (like the OP bought) looks just about right. The compact is a small little runt, and the Shield is smaller than that.

I put two magazines through it so far. Very smooth shooting but the trigger failed to reset on round two of the first mag. I took it apart and scrubbed it down so hopefully that fixes it, if not I'll be looking into some new springs

I wish. But m&p45 mags are relatively inexpensive

I wanted a Glock 21 but I'll just put that off for a while

I bout a PD trade in M&P 45 with the 4" barrel and full size grip. No PD markings, night sights were dead and had very minimal wear from a holster or on the barrel from shooting it.
I put some M&P standard 3 dot sights I had on it. It was a smooth shooting gun as far as trigger and slide on frame. I sold it and bought an M&P 9L.
Mine fit in a Gcode holster for an M&P 4.25" 9mm. Just a little snugger fit.

Is the trigger reset a common problem or are you saying spring changes are common?

I had a midsize M&P .45 too. Basically it is the compact slide on the full size frame. It came with night sights and I later trimmed off the beavertail as I thought it was useless. Overall it was a good pistol and I sold it to a friend who absolutely loves it. I bought a Blackhawk holster for a standard M&P 9mm from Wal-Mart and it fit just fine.

If that grip is anything like the shield 45 I'll pass. So rough it wrecked shirts, caused shirts to get caught on it, and rubbed skin raw

hey! we both got in on that deal. Same department, same deal with being barely used. Also same regret for not getting a 2nd one. I thought that for $232.48 shipped (I signed up for their free trial) that it would be a beater, but it was in magnificent shape. REALLY regret not ordering 2

the shield .45 has the same grip texture as the 2.0 guns (it really IS a 2.0, there just wasn't a 1.0 though so they couldn't call it a 2.0)

Love the grip. Wonít slide around in the hand especially on hot humid days. I canít even shoot my Glock 19 anymore. It feels so bad in the hand compared to the 2.0 series.

I have to sand the 2.0 texture down... it actually causes sores on my hands (sorry, I"m a white collar computer worker, the only calluses I have are on my fingertips from my keyboard)

Makes me wonder what men/gun owners of the past would say about men of today who are complaining about the weight on sub 2lb polly pistols, non target/competition like tiggers, and grips being to rough for their delicate hands.

Deguns had the M&P 2.0 on sale for $309 after rebate a couple of weeks ago. I didn't need one, but for that price, I really had no other choice but to pick one up. Haven't gotten it yet, but I do own a Shield 45. The grips don't hurt my hands or bother me one bit. My only real complaint, if I had to come up with something, would be that my shirt will cling to it if/when my shirt rides up instead of draping back over the grip when I stand upright.

I'm constantly amazed at all the folks who've forgotten about the large LEAs who voluntarily broke their lease agreement early to turn these POS' back in.

Ya know, fellas, large agencies generally don't end their gun leases early unless the gun really, really stinks.

I know this much, some of you guys have some wussy ass hands.

Had a first gen 45c for a while, solid shooter, needed an apex kit to wake it up or at least a sear. 14 round mags aren't any fun for it.

Let's be frank you don't know the reasons, but from what I have heard from various instructors in LE they are moving back to DA/SA guns now due to a lot of stress testing. Sudden or abrupt confrontations can induce a shot with a drawn striker weapon in quite a few instances. So the Heavy DA is making a come back to keep officers from shooting when they don't mean too in high stress situations.

But you'd be gullible enough to use some retarded shit like that as an excuse.
