Default Help price STG58 kit.

Hey guys trying to put a round about value on this kit I found. I don't know a bunch about FALs but I read up a bunch & what I found out is: its an early (four digit serial number) Austrian STG58 kit. Everything appears to be there after looking at kits online. Its in pretty dang nice shape (pretty much looks new) other than a few scratches on the hanguards & lower. Numbers match, sorry no pics. I'm a retard & don't take pics when I need to.

Anyways I'm trying to get a ballpark idea of what its worth. A good second opinion from actual people with experience would be nice. Any help greatly appriciated.

4 digit serial number wood stock then?

It's FN Belgian made. If it has the wood stock I would say $1200-$1300 over at the FALFiles.

Oh no, it has a plastic buttstock & grip, metal hanguards. Some sort of miss match then?

The number on the lower, bolt carrier & barrel match, yes four digits. Thats all I could find.

I'm debating on having it built, or sell part of this pile for a profit. The FAL is a very natural pointing rifle for me & I read these can be very accurate, for a battle rifle & I don't have a semi auto heavy hitter in my collection.

Get an Imbel receiver, have it built by Gunplumber and you will have one of the best FALs you could get short of an original.

Way low for numbers matching STG kit with OG barrel. $1000 minimum. This ain’t no Imbel kit at 4-600 bucks.

Yep. You got a good one.
As time went on wood stocks that were damaged got replaced with synthetic stocks. You have a very fine kit there worth a great deal of money these days.

No way on that price, it’s not 2008. “Yes Sir!” on the rest of the post.

Remove the front handguards and look for a semi-oval on the barrel with a crown on one end and the letters LEG in the oval.

That would be a FN proof from one of the early production STG58 FAL rifles built by FN.

Okay yeah I found the mark you describe. This is pre-Steyr from what I've read? But Steyr made the best barrels supposedly? I mean FN is good stuff also & the barrel looks freakin' new so I'm not heartbroken.

Honestly debating. Good buddy came up with this tub of parts & calls me. Says he wants enough to buy an entry level AR & some ammo. So I stroke him a check for 600, give him a battlepack of M193 & take the tub home to sort. Found:

most of an FR8, badly bubba'd
All of two FALs (one was ugly, other one is this STG) plus one receiver
A dozen new mags in paper & some 30 rounders, good lord thats a big mag.
An israeli mag & odd looking scope. SUIT something or other.
1200 rounds portuguese 7.62

I traded the rough looking rifle / reciever for several hundred M855A1, just incase for my new Colt A4. Figure I'll probably sell the scope also but seriously thinking about having the STG built now if its as good as they say. I've got pile of 30 cal rifles (several K31 Swiss, a nice 1903 & mosins coming out my ears) but nothing semi auto that can lay serious hate.
