Default New facts from Sportsman's Guide

I received a case of wolf 762x39 today that was completely wet that had been put in a dry overbox. This was obviously done by fedex. When I called SG to see when they would be sending me a new case, Christy from customer service told me that I nothing to worry about. As it turns out ammunition and water completely mix. And wet ammo is just as good as dry.I had never heard this before. All this time I have been wasting space in my house. I could have been storing it outside with my firewood. I sent SG pictures and they may send me another. Time will tell. Have any of you delt with them before? Worst case scenario I dump a thousand rounds next week.

And that why you buy from SG Ammo, and pay the insurance.

anything they ever sent me was in plastic, especially the wolf "Barnaul" they are selling for 204$ for 1k rounds. did you take a pic? cant beat free shipping from the guide. was buying 2 cans of x39 for 60$ less than what sg ammo sells it for.

I wouldn’t actually be worried just because it got wet in shipping. I would just dry it off and store it in a dry place. If it had a musty smell like it had been stored in a damp location for a long time then I’d be concerned. That’s just me.

I’m sure they’ll take it back if you tell them you really don’t want it though.

I'm not surprised. Sportsman's Guide tried to sell me a case of corroded DAG .308 a while back. Finally got them to take it back after pulling a few teeth.

Like the man said, shop SG Ammo instead.

I think Sportsman's Guide changed ownership a couple years ago or so. They used to be very good and I bought many crates of Combloc from them til it ran out. Haven't bought much sincince except maybe some clothes from the surplus bin.

I buy a ton of stuff from them. Just received a Romy drum today. Just call them back and tell them you’re not comfortable with the wet ammo, even if it might not be ruined, and you want to exchange or refund it.

I actually live 15 minutes from the actual Warehouse where the stuff ships from. Was just there last week and picked up some Malaysian that was sitting out on the floor. The guide was awesome years ago but Northern Tools is actually who bought them out recently. Haven't needed to go there for a few years now for anything, just ended up going to check out their remodel.

I buy ammo exclusively from Sportsmans Guide when it comes to bulk. Never ever had an issue. At $199 shipped per 1k rds it's hard to beat.

The last wolf that I purchased was not sealed in plastic inside the box as is days of yesteryear. You cut open the wolf ammunition box and there they boxes lay. I happened to be home when Fedex made the delivery and they left them on the porch in the rain. Shipping box got wet but not the main box inside. I always pay the .99 package protection but never had to make a claim.

I'm a buyers club member and it has save me a lot of money through the years. I have not paid shipping on a case of any kind of ammo for a long long time.

Be watchful. They've just recently started re-upping memberships automatically. I found an unauthorized charge of $39.99 on my card last month, called the bank and got the information. I never got an email or anything. Got the charges reversed by calling Sportsman's Guide CS and cancelling. Over the years I've been pretty happy with them but seldom buy ammo through them anymore. A lot of times the good deals are for things that they don't even have in stock. It's been better in the past, but not worth the paid membership now IMO.

This 100%. Comes shrink wrapped and double boxed, and thereís insurance for $2. UPS beat the shit out of my box and it was a little wet but the goods were dry due to SGA offering superior packing.

SG is a great company, they'll make it right. If not call your credit card company and file a dispute.

I've done several free trials with SG and several with Amazon Prime. Also remember that if you find deal on SG worth paying the subscription for, don't take the first offer. They'll make a better second offer.

I'm all for supporting SGammo, however, I've never had an ammo shipments from them come shrink wrapped. Now some cases such as GT come with plastic wrap from the factory, maybe that's what you meant? I just got an order of 8M3 in and even though I bought cases it was all in those 100 round black boxes.

Now that you mention it, I have a consistent habit of tacking an odd box or two of random new shit I havenít shot before when I order a typical 1k round case of something I do like, so maybe thatís why they shrink wrap the whole order together like a cocoon.

I’ve been a Sportsmens guide member for years. Never had a problem just had 1000 rounds show up on Friday dry as a bone. They’ve really been slacking on their AK shit lately though. I call and complain about it monthly in hopes that they get some new stuff. Last year they had circle 10 mags for a very short period.

SportsmenG is great company saving me tons of $ on free shipping option. I wouln’t blame them because Fedex or UPS is throwing our boxes as shit all over including water. How many rounds is there? If you can’t return just dry them and shot soon.

I've spent thousands of dollars on ammo and guns from SG and have always been happy with their service (And prices!)
Last month I bought 4,000 rounds of laquer cased 7.62x39 for 18.6 cents per round to my door. You just cannot beat that.
I'd like to order more from sgammo but sg is considerably cheaper and I always get free shipping. I use sgammo for rare stuff like 8m3 etc though.

Meh....

Bought a lot of stuff from Sportsmans Guide...never an issue.

Just got in another order last week, some 6.5 CM and a couple of rifle scopes. No issues at all.

Same. Always a good experience with them. I had a problem one time with a magazine and they shipped a replacement immediately, did not even make me return the defective one.
