Default SLR104 top cover canting question

Hello,
I was looking at the top cover of my rifle right behind the rear sight, and I noticed that the frontmost dimple on the topcover is not centered on the rifle relative to the notch on the rear sight. The following picture describes my issue:

https://ibb.co/cr3EZF

(note: that is not a picture of my gun, but it shows the same problem)

Anyways, the thing is that my sights do not seem canted at all. When I remove the top cover, they look perfectly straight. The rifle also shoots perfectly straight at my point of aim. This makes sense because the rear sight would have to be canted by like 5 degrees to produce the what's shown in the picture. This would be a huge canting.

Do you think this is a problem with the dust cover then? It does fit a bit tightly but it's certainly not out of spec. Upon closer inspection, it does seem that the forward most topcover dimple may not be aligned with the ones behind it. Is this normal? Have any of you noticed this on any of your guns?

I've got a bulgy 74 kit I built that's the same way. The top covers aren't always cut perfectly straight at the front, maybe they get twisted a little bit when they're put in place because of the way they contact the front or rear trunnion or rsb. Could also be some twist in the receiver, I dunno.
