Correct, it is a Bulgarian barrel and gas block. Sar2s have the 45 degree as they are true Romanian

Here are my two for comparison

Is that a fact? Just wondering because mine doesn't look at all Bulgarian

I don't know that they are Bulgarian, but the two SAR-3s I have in the shop right now are 90 degree and have shorter gas tubes than AKM.

If you compare a Bulgarian 5.56 or AK74 barrel and components to a Romanian 5.56 you will see that all the barrel components differ in configuration and the barrel machining profile is different as well.

With a long history of making firearms I seriously doubt they would farm out barrel and gas block production across the border to Bulgaria, even though they are a short drive away from each other.

Not saying they didn't, just that it wouldn't make sense since they clearly have the capability to make them themselves.
