Default 1892 dated M1891 - Imperial Tula w/ Serbia mark

I recently picked this up. Numbers match on receiver and butt plate, but bolt and mag well are non-matching. Grease hole receiver with the later configuration stock/hand guard. For the age, and considering it is a Serbia marked rifle, it is in great condition.

Good rifle! Considering how much history M91’s went through the early M91’s are tough to find. It the hey day of my C&R collecting days the earliest of the dozen or so M91’s that I had was 1897. I think that I had only seen a couple that were older over the years.

The stories that a nearly 130 yr old Mosin could tell, one can only imagine.

Very cool! I've never put my hands on one older than the early 1930's.

I have subsequently found out that the Cyrillic M/crown is not a Serbian mark.

She's definitely a great find. Please don't refinish the stock or polish the trigger or any of that nonsense
