That was very quick! The field grades seem to ship quicker then the service grades.

Yes the field grades state they ship right away but the service grade says 2-4 months (or did when I ordered)

I have a bayonet, bandolier, clips, and a matching wwii usmc helmet. I'll be ordering ammo and finding a sling soon

It's been almost a month for me. I ordered a field grade... still haven't heard anything. I might have to contact them.

I would say your order form was lost in the mail

I sent it Priority with tracking, so I know they got it.

I emailed them over the weekend and today I received an order notification and then a shipment notification from Fedex. Should arrive tomorrow morning. I doubt it was a coincidence; my order was probably misplaced or forgotten about. Shit happens sometimes.

Received mine yesterday. 1954 Springfield with a new replacement stock. Not exactly what I wanted but definitely a beauty and way better than the $800+ blue sky I was looking at.

Pics and new thread to come when it stops raining

Awesome! The CMP M1ís are a good deal! Is the stock a CMP stamped walnut stock?

CMP states that wood may be new Hackberry wood with no holes drilled for the cleaning kit.

My stock has no hole drilled for the cleaning kit (this is a field grade and they don't drill the new stocks for those).

It is a dark brown color and very pleasing to look at. +2 muzzle reading and 3 throat reading. Here are some inside photos but I will start a new thread with some eye candy when the rain storms quit here.

That is really not that bad for a field grade! It should make for a sweet shooter!

HMMMMMM
makes me consider selling a few AK kits and getting one of these .
Nice rifle for the money .

Is there any lower grade ones available that can be re barreled that are cheaper .
I always considered making a target version .

They've been sold out of the rack grades for a couple of years. They do have the "Special" grade for $1050 rebuilt with a new Criterion barrel:

The only Blue Sky import that I've ever handled is the one I bought last summer for $600 on consignment at my LGS. I bought it without hesitation, took it back and dated the receiver to December of 41'. I was happy as hell with my new purchase. I then read about Blue Sky's reputation and got a little nervous so headed down to the range to see if i had a lemon. End result was 80 Greek rounds sent down range without incident.

I guess I got lucky but that was my experience.

I got my first 2 M1's from the CMP recently, both service grade springfields with new wood, the wood is really nice though but was bone dry, both are on their 4th coat of linseed oil and are still sucking it right up.

First rifle is 2,017,80X and has a 1943 Barrel and the hang tag readings are 1+ for muzzle and throat wear, Second rifle is a 5 digit numbered one 14,23X which has a WRA Barrel, Has a narrow sight base too.
