Damn that’s nice man! With the lower plastic frame off does the safety or handling feel any different? Is your hand higher up?

I’m starting to really like that conversion... IWI should look into that

Hand is a little higher, feels good like its suppose to.

Thumb safety needs trimmed to properly fit PG (Widened on ACE)

Basically no big secrets here.
- Internals are near identical
- Forward safety mechanism identical except for outside levers, Mine mounted right inside with no problems.
-Hammer has little difference, disconnector changed for Semi function
-Bolt carrier little difference
-Bolt near identical
hell even the threads on barrel are same.....

Seems the old Galil tooling that was sold or junked was replaced with near the same to me.

The holes are there for rivets (At least the few I got) You may need to do a slight ream

The 308 SAR is a Royal Pain to changeover. It will take the newer 308 IWI mags. Id just save your money and move along from that headache and keep the plastic on it.

Im certain a older barrel will fit the ACE. I was halfway tempted to make a hybrid but got side tracked.

With 7.62x39 Aces going down in price it would be worth the time and money to yank the barrel and run a older one.

Been away for a good while. No longer have that tacticool Golani I've posted before. I do have this now though. AR kit from Apex I've been sitting on for a while and a CNC Warrior receiver.

timhogan427 - very nice ARM, what kind of muzzle brake is that?

That handguard looks to be in pretty good condition, is it from one of the new APEX kits?

Did you do that build?

That hand guard looks great... Been on the fence about this, or the RS version. If I remember correctly, the RS extends just past the gas block, where as this looks perfectly inline with the front angle. I assume swapping out the rear stock was somewhat easy? Looks like just knocking out the roll pin, and re-installing?

This is the adapter plate I used, it's real easy to install fits perfect. Yes just knock out the one pin.
https://knsprecisioninc.com/product/...stock-adapter/
Gives you the option to use any stock you want that mounts on the tube. You'll need this tube adapter http://stormwerkz.com/stock-adapters...rbine-adapter/. I took off the folding hinge and mounted it direct because The Stormwerkz hinge had slight play in it, not a lot but noticeable, and I like it solid. I can put the hinge back on in 2 minutes if I needed to. Saw mixed reviews on this one https://star15.com/push-button-folding-mechanism-fsm-pb so I didn't bother with it went Stormwerkz instead http://stormwerkz.com/stock-folding-...nism-standard/. It's made well and real good people to deal with, not to mention it's cheaper. The swap out is really easy. The MI handguard is real nice and made well, fit is perfect. If you're not sticker shock prone you can pop for these grip panels that are on it. After tons of search time for panels I gave up and went with them even though they cost a lot but are awesome, great feel https://www.mechforce-usa.com/produc...ils-handguards, Here was my other choice but they're never in stock and they're pricey too https://www.railscales.us/products/railscales-test.

Thanks for all the detail! I am behind enemy lines, so a folding stock isn't an option for... Save me a few bucks to put towards those crazy expensive rail covers. They're nice, but damn they're not cheep!

From the looks of it, you have more money invested in those covers than you do in the hand guard!

Yep, but worth every dollar I spent on it. The improvement over stock is just amazing.

Welcome to our Galil forum, Jaxx!!

Jaxx - Please tell us, the tech. specs. - you know who made the receiver/barrel - who is the builder??

Do tell, Give Credit, where Credit is Due!!

Did Jeff Miller have anything to do with it???
I think he's got some MAR parts you might be able to use....

Thanks! Our builds are on CNC warrior receivers and our own (Jaxx) One in the picture is CNC warrior, we have few have a few built on Tort Tort receivers also.
Barrels we turn, contour, port and thread ourselves from GM blanks
We imported a lot of MAR parts kits….
Our builds are joint effort JAXX Industries, Trinity Suppressors, and Valkyrie Combat . All here in Nevada.
