Default Rear sight moves up under recoil

I have an M38 and an M44 that have a similar problem. If I put the rear sight on the 200 meter setting and fire a shot, for the next shot the recoil has moved to the 300 meter setting. Is there any way to correct this?

Probably weak springs in the sliders.
I'd remove the the sight, then the slider; stretch the springs slightly so there will be more force required to compress them, then re-assemble.

Actually what I ended up doing is I replaced the springs with cut-up sections of Walther PPK loaded chamber indicator springs. They were almost twice as long as the original springs and basically the same shape.

I got a chance to test it at the range and it worked perfectly. No more shifting.
