Default Would u trade?

What is ur opinions on this trade. I have a s&w 629-3 mountain gun. Has pachmayr grips and no box. He has a m70ab2 with the black poly handguard, 1000 rnds of 7.62x39, and 5 mags. It would be a straight up trade. What do u guys think? Thanks, choppy

I say no.....

If it was a SAM7UF, and I wanted one? Maybe. You said a 629-3, Isn't that a pre lock smith? If it is, and is old enough enough to be pre mim, id think it would be worth keeping.

But as it stands? Unless you REALLY want that yugo, and you REALLY don't like the S&W I would think your coming out on the short side of that deal.

I would make that trade in a heartbeat. I gave up on .44 Magnum when I realized that it is expensive as hell to shoot recreationally, and I:

1) Don't live in bear country
2) Have never been to bear country
3) Never plan to go to bear country

And... If I ever do go to bear country, I have decided that an AK/12 gauge trumps a handgun.

I've also decided that humongous, heavy pistols are not where it's at for defense against human adversaries, and I don't hunt with a handgun. I also don't have a lot of love for Clint Eastwood outside of a few of his movies so Dirty Harry is both old news and irrelevant to me.

With that said, I think the M70AB2 is an excellent weapon, that is infinitely more useful that a heavy assed S&W revolver in a caliber that serves no purpose for me. Adding a few mags and a thousand rounds of ammo is just icing on the cake.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. I'd rather have a good rifle than a big,
clunking, worthless (to me) revolver.

Trade a solid revolver that will always hold its value for a half ass ak?
Only if you don't know or don't like revolvers and never had a ak and don't know jack shit about any ak and assume 'it's an ak, it will last forever'. Yeah, some do. And others are shit.
If it was for a Saiga or Vepr, sure.
Then again fans of either will state their reasoning.
And those that are dicks and advise out of spite because they've made a similar mistake in the past and the only redeeming option they see is encouraging others to make the same mistake. Research independently. Talk to people that actually shoot AKs a LOT.
I love good aks more than good revolvers, but here the comparison is a revolver that's a 9/10 categorically compared to a ak that's around 5/10 regarding quality.
Maybe if it was a ruger, yeah. But a 629-3 for a m70ab2...I'd expect a good $300 added with that barely mid level ak, and then I would sell it and buy a better one

It is a pre lock, pre mim parts, but no box, non original grip. I got it for a very good price. Not a big revolver guy, and it is not enjoyable to shoot. Its actually pretty damn brutal

If you don't enjoy it why keep it ..... for value ? Boring!

If you want an ak witch you clearly do sell the revolver and pick out an ak or just make the trade

Well from what I've seen on Gunbroker, revolvers like yours WITH box and in excellent shape can sell for around $900 or so, give or take.

If you value the ammo at $200 or so and the rifle at $600 with mags, it seems like a pretty square trade (not sure what the future would hold for the Smith's value down the road though as I'm not a big revolver guy).

If you really like the AB2 and would get more use out of it, I'd say go for it. You could also try to sell the Smith (since you're not really into the revolver) and put it towards an AK of your choosing.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Shoot either .44 Specials or .44 Magnum Cowboy ammo out of it, it will be a much more pleasant experience.

Do what ever makes you happy, but that is a shitty trade. A 629-3 Mountain Gun is a sought after piece for some people.

From a practical standpoint, the M70-AB2 may get more use from you.
But keep in mind 10 & 20 years from now the 629 will be even harder to find and certainly worth more to those who are looking for them.
Depends on your priorities.

sell the revolver independently, then buy a m70ab2 if you want. You will have $$$ left over for the titty bar and drinks.

It all depends what the Guns are worth, I say that the Yugo AK is worth about $750.00 in good working order. I have no idea what the revolver is worth.

From a personal point of view I would rather have the AK, I'm not a revolver Guy. Now if it was a 1911, Browning HP or a P38 that would be a different story. .

OP ask the guy to throw in a couple extra vowels and it's a deal, that way you won't have to keep typing retarded shit like "ur" instead of "your".

It's a mountain gun those are highly valuable revolvers and hard to find in good working order that they don't make anymore FYI. If it was a nicer AK then maybe but not for that one.

The 629-3 is pre-lock/-MIM and 3", very practical to anyone that hikes, hunts or fishes in bear/cougar country. Way more practical, else you always have a 18" 870 with slugs quick-sleeved to your back...
And there's always the badass that "needs" a hand-cannon carry piece.
The 629-3 has already 2X+ in value and the S&W-inclined/infected are faithfull.

You'd get a NON-CLASSIC AK + ~$175(now) in ammo.

Comes down to your ultimate wants....

Too close and you would be trading a factory gun for a kit gun. I say no.

Hell no, for a pre lock 629.
Not for a Cen parts gun. I like those rifles and they're gtg but a Lnib arsenal or fm vepr would be more along the lines of a fair trade

Run a couple of cylinders through that 44. It satisfies!

I wouldn't trade. Plenty of yugo aks. They make more everyday. Older quality revolvers in magnum? Not so much.

Fuck no. Imported commie shit is becoming increasingly more scarce while you can get a Smith at any pawn shop.
