Just finally got the notice this morning that the M72B1 (that I saw online and ordered last week) is back in stock. So yeah, I wouldn't count on those Classic email notifications getting to you before any stuff in short supply is long gone.

I'd call SOG and see if they are still in stock.
I'd rather spend the $799 there.

I'm sure this is not a limited run. With several different stores selling these, there will be more.

Yeah I'd rather give them my $$$ as well if I didn't impulse buy It at Classic. At least it was the same price

SOG CC fee and shipping are a deal breaker for me, but I understand the not wanting to go the unclassic route. maybe Atlantic will get them back for about the same price point

I'm not a fan of Classic either and probably won't buy from them again, but at $799 it was a very reasonable price. As of right now they have 4 left in stock

Atlantic I see you are viewing. Did your rifles also have the SS barrel? any difference you can spot between the one you offered and classic?? I know yours was priced $30 higher (classic's regular price, not this sale price). You mentioned you had JRA build your rifles to your specs I believe, which as a VERY satisfied customer of both your DDR and WBP rifles I'm curious to what the difference might be because I would trust you guys over Classic any day of the week

Our M72 Full Size rifles were built from a different batch of parts kits that were more expensive and a higher grade. They came with Stainless steel barrels and James River was matching the receiver number to a main number on the parts kits plus came with the extra accessories. We were only able to obtain a limited number of the select kits and at this point they have been all utilized. The Classic option is a solid gun and value for 799.00

Unless things have changed, from a non-dealer perspective, ordering from SOG can be problematic since you have to have the *order* done by a SOG affiliated dealer (or be an FFL yourself). This can mean that rather than just ordering it yourself for delivery to a transferring FFL for their $25 or so fee, they have to order it for you and that can cost more, depending. Unless things have changed (you didn't used to be able to even look at pricing on firearms for sale at SOG without an FFL last I checked). That's pretty much why I normally haven't ordered things from SOG if someone else has it for similar pricing.

I received mine today. None of the parts match. The action is rough, but everything looks straight. I haven't taken it to the range yet to see how she shoots.

Also, the included magazine is rusted and pitted but there aren't any dents. Just FYI.

Picked mine up today. The rifle appears well built rivets look decent, sights are straight finish is nice. Action was very gritty and full of grease took a while to clean. Wood was sanded and refinished I don't like the stain they put on looks like a coat of cheap min wax. Biggest frustration was no cleaning rod with mine. All in all seems like a decent purchase. Will try to get to the range this week.

If yours is like mine you'll want to clean it thourghly first. Felt like it was full of grit esp the recoil spring.

Are you saying that Zastava did make RPK with stainless steel barrels? So far all I saw were the same steel dark bore kits

I would have rather purchased the Atlantic offering. I am hitting the range tomorrow, and as long as it goes bang and I can sight it in, then I guess I am OK with it.

I've been watching this thread and been close to purchasing the last 2 weeks since they dropped the price to 799. So I see one of you got one where the numbers didn't match...... is this going to be a common theme?

Nah I don't have any regrets. Atlantic was out and said they didn't have any more coming plus it was 150 cheaper. I suspect that there isn't a huge difference if any between the classic, sog, and Atlantic builds.

They are all coming from the same builder. I doubt that other builds were made to. Higher standard. For 799 I have no regrets.

Did any of your parts match? Did you get a cleaning rod? Just asking for comparison.

No cleaning rod. Dust cover and bolt carrier match. Stock and pistol grip do not

That's annoying that no cleaning rod came. Guess it's not expensive to purchase separate at least
