Default Zastava M72 RPK at Classic

Zastava M72 RPK at Classic Arms. Dunno anything about these particular rifles. But no Yugo RPK's on the market recently. At $900.

James River Armory kit build on American receivers with non CLB American button barrels.

Not sure how JRA AK building skills are so that's always a variable. But if someone's looking for an M-72 clone this would probably fit the bill.

But why we can't have Century import new production M-72 and M-91s directly from Zastava is beyond me.

In order to import directly from Zastava, the weapon must be a "sporting type" rifle.
Atf requires [but not limited to] no pistol grip, no threads on the barrel, no night sites, + other restrictions.
We have hundreds of Zastava RPKs parts kits in-bound, both milled and stamped.
Most looked to be in very good used condition.

Thanks for the "heads up" Bob! Any idea on the price range of your kits? I'm getting the CC ready if the price is right!

Has anyone ever had one of these?

SOG has for $1040 (http://www.southernohiogun.com/yugo-...e-7-62x39.html). Down the line I eventually want to replace my Century M64 with a non-mutt RPK and wondering if this might be a decent option.

Same RPK ., Classic is a retailer for James River. Price increased a bit at SOG.

Agree its the same, just seeing if anyone has shot one. I've seen a JRA Maadi that was pretty rough, but heard others speak well of some JRA builds.

I can say honestly that this guy is a good guy to buy from. And Yugo RPK are heavy duty, military quality guns. If I can pick some more up at a great price, I'll be in for multiples.

I mean, where else can you get military grade, not commercial, RPK for reasonable price? Parts kit, plus US made receiver & barrel for about $550?+/-

If you can do a reweld, the milled torch cut receiver versions are excellent.

The deal was the all matching Zastava M72 RPK kits for $209 last month at Numrich.

Just got one for $800 from classic (3 left now). I'm no classic fan, but why was it $950 at Atlantic. Was the Atlantic one different somehow?

The rifles that we are offering were contract built for PW Arms by JRA and they had imported a very nice grade of kits that had also included accessories . I have not personally seen the Classic models so can not comment on their rifles but Classic is have theirs built by JRA in a separate production run.

Its kind of comparing apples to oranges, but I have a JRA BM59E and it has been a good gun for me.

There is no reason Century couldn't have imported a version of the M72 from Serbia and then finished it out here in the USA. Afterall they did just that with the AES10B for years, and still do it with the NPAP and NPAP-DF today.
Its only a matter of they decided not to do it. Instead though, they have been promoting their C39 and RAS47 series hard, and hey there's a C39 'RPK'. It has to be better than something built overseas right? Its "100% American"!
Now they are doing the "US Draco" and I am afraid it might mean the end of imported Dracos.

Anyhow, since a Zastava factory built M72 isn't an option, a good kit build is the next best thing. Its a neat and interesting configuration too, so I say go for it (full disclosure, when it comes to RPK type guns, I always say this...i have a problem I know).

I don't blame you guys for buying from Classic because of the low price, but if they were a bit more equal, I'd go with Atlantic and Blaine over Classic and Ben every single time.

I'd buy Atlantic over Classic all day long too. FWIW, the JRA at Atlantic has the exact same description (sold out though). Classics regular price on it is 900, so only $30 cheaper normally

The Full sized RPK rifles we were offering were different from what Classic is currently offering.Ours were made with a different batch of kits and what was purchased was a premium grade it did not come from the same importer as Classic . JRA was supposed to match the serial # on the receiver to the trunion or a major number on the kit. They also used a limited production run of Stainless steel barrels in the rifles supplied to us. And the kits came with the extra mags and accessories . We are not sure if we will see more since the Premium kits and SS barrels are gone. All of this being said the current price and offering from Classic is not a bad deal.

The Eye of Sauron has his gaze on these. Where the hell were yugos for the last 3 years? I sent emails to almost everyone. The M-72 was the very one I wanted as well. Then Veprs were rolling in by thousands. Last summer I got 2 long barreled Veprs since all the builders and all were acting like assholes or not responding, like Lee Armory.

Now I have been trying to get riveting for my Vepr bullet guides. Asshole crap again. Business has and will be cushy for tops one more year. I want to see the arrogant asshole gunstore guys fail now.

I ordered one at 2AM. Seems like a very good deal. These have been going in and out of stock almost immediately at Classic (not my number one choice of vendor either), as had the BM59s, since back around Easter, if I recall correctly. I still haven't gotten my email "notification" that they were back in stock from Classic that I signed up for, I just happened to see it added in the recent Classic Youtube videos in my subscription list last night.

And they appear to be OOS again at Classic, so I'm glad I ordered one at 2AM.

Yep!!! And pretty decently priced too. A LGS has a C39 RPK for the low low price of $1200. I've seen them as low as $900, but still overpriced for what it is
