And Hillary Clinton won the popular vote (by over 2 million) losing the election via electoral college. She must have been a vastly superior product by that logic.

Well, today's range session with the EC9S didn't go so hot. Two failures in 56 rds fired (8 mags). Both were failure to feed. Gun ran better under rapid fire than slow fire. Sights are dead nuts accurate especially now with a bit of bright orange nail polish on the front. But, I can't have a carry weapon that won't run, so I think I'm gonna sell it.
Just took my Gen 1 LC9S that I got from PSA durring their receiver bundle sale. Ran 100 rounds of Federal 115g bulk pack and 50 Rounds of Hornady FTXs and she ran like a top. Not sure why the EC9 would function any different but I hope it works out. I personally give firearms a 200 or so round break in period but its good to have a pictol be 100% out of the box.

+1
Especially with new 9mm pistols I like to run some boxes of full power 124/147 FMJs.
Just to make sure the RSA is broke in.

My LC9s Pro was GTG right out of the box.
But my Ruger LCP misbehaved badly on FMJs for the first 200 rounds (FTF).
Smooth out over a second 200.
And then ran 200 Hornady XTP Custom HPs flawlessly.
Had a similar experience with a NIB Kahr MK40
The SS Kahr was uber tight new and difficult to disassemble/assemble.
Really don't like having to break in NIB guns.
But if they smooth out and run 100% after that.
I'll hang on to them

Picked up a standard LC9s for $259 shipped and I could not find anything to complain about. Trigger was very nice. Polished up the feed ramp and now to go shoot it. I did not care for the integral sights on the EC9s.

same issue for me. I love the LC9s and the EC9 looks cool too, but I need one without a safety. Or at least an ambi safety as I'm left handed.

The safety is simple to remove if you desire

I've never liked pocket carry without a safety.
I own both the LC9s and EC9.
Both are GTG and everyday carry.

Apples and oranges. People voted based on different ideology and other personal factors. When it comes to genres of firearms, e.g., single stack 9mm, the consensus amoung gun owners is generally the same. Reliable, aftermarket support, a good trigger, price/value, etc. The sales and general opinions of the gun community is that the Shield, G43, and PPS are the best in the class, so I don't get how the previous poster can make the claim that the EC9s is the best... It might be the best to him, but not to most everyone else...

I shot the shield side-by-side against the ruger yesterday at the range, and I still don't understand the appeal of the shield. That gun is an absolute joke in my opinion. Mag is odd, slide seems tall and wide when shooting, and that ridiculous hinged trigger design is awful.

I haven't seen the gun communities' vote either way. As I said in my post, the Shield is a fine pistol, I like the Ruger better. That doesn't mean it's a "better" gun. No, that means I like it better. As I stated, Your mileage may vary. Don't go all ornery on me, bro

I feel the same way. The LC9s blows the shield out of the water IMO. The trigger alone beats out factory Glock, S&W, Kahr and others at half the price.

Does anyone know if all of Ruger's striker fired trigger are a crisp and clean as the LC9s?

Just sold my SR9c which was EDC for 3 years. Excellent trigger and 17 +1 rounds but the EC9s is so much easier to carry. Every bit as accurate as the SR9 and SR9c as well. Owned the SR9, 9c and both are excellent pistols with nice, crisp triggers. The LC9s (EC9s) is hard to beat with that awesome trigger and ability to flawless feed anything you put in it. Christ, I can pocket carry the EC9s being a little bigger than the LCP.

Have LCP and LC9s Pro.
Except for the smallest pockets, the LC9s will fit in most everything.
IMHO it's the ultimate 9mm pocket pistol.
LCP is .380, so it's a BUG for me

Have no experience with a EC9s.
But it sounds like the ultimate low budget defensnive gun.

That's a pretty good deal. I bought a 2nd EC9s for her for $230 out the door. The only con I can give on the EC9s is sight acquisition in low light. I'll get around to painting the sights. That trigger though..............it's awesome. $259 with the LC9s sights is a steal. Was lucky enough to trade 3 SR9c ten round magazines for 2 Ruger 9 round and 2 Ruger 7 round LC/EC9s magazines. With the 7 round magazine this packs easily IWB or OWB....or snugly in the pocket. It has totally replaced my LCP for last ditch, hot weather carry. I have a tendency to beat the hell out of my guns. I've run a lot of 9mm Nato and +p through the EC9s. Interesting the manual suggests limited usage of +P, Fiocchi ammo and steel case. I have over 2000 rounds of Fiocchi 9mm in various grains and have had no problems in the EC9s. The first Tula steel case 9mm round I put through it caused a jam-it died on the ramp. The only jam. I'll save all the steel case for my old S&W 639 that loves all ammo. Still puzzled by the Fiocchi warning. One of my favorite range ammo along with Speer.

Brought my wife a LC9s Pro, and myself a Walther PPS M2... I still think the EC9s with it's milled sights and bunch of safeties isn't worth the cost savings over the Pro.

$259 + $20-$25 magazine = around $280... About the same price as I seen the Gen1 Shield and only $20 less than the PPS M2. It's an OK deal... If I wasn't able to pick up the LC9 Pro for $230 shipped, I probably wouldn't have brought it over the Shield or PPS.
