That's a good looking 1911 there Nalioth. What's your experience with it been like? Any issues? I'm mulling over getting a 4 inch bobtail. I have an officer, government, and a doublestack so a good bobtail commander is in order. I'm leaning towards another Dan Wesson, but like the duo-tone of that S&W. Don't know about that external extractor though.

I don't have the highest regard for S&W, but IMHO they did their 1911s right.

Unlike Sig, who thought they needed massive revisions

My EDC is a SA V10 ultra compact, they don't make them anymore so you have to find one used. Mine was tuned a bit before I got it and it's astonishingly precise and very reliable.

They seem to be in your price-range

I sorry too,I really wanted to like the Colt but I know Thai hookers that are tighter than it was.
Good news is I finally bought a .45 today, Dan Wesson Vbob stainless commander. It will be here when I get home from work this coming weekend, so pics and a small range report will be in order. More than I wanted to spend but it's my only 1911 so I splurged.

You will love it. I have two DW's and they are very fine weapons and awesome cost to quality ratio.

Nothing else like them to me. $820 for a new Colt is pretty darn good.

Damn fine Colt. After all the years of carrying a Government model it is what I prefer. My daily carry is a Remington R1 enhanced. My only complaint was the trigger was a little loose but I adjusted the bow a little & now it is absolutely perfect. I stopped counting how many down the pipe after 10,000. Just clean, lube & replace springs. The only other thing is the black oxide finish isn't the toughest but it's a carry gun.

Look for a stamped model with the rounded hammer over the spur, they did some upgrades to the frames to handle hotter loads when these transitioned just prior to the US made milled slides.

Sar K2 gets my vote, too. Damn fine pistol. Perhaps even more accurate than my PPQ First Edition. Forged frame, slide and barrel, which is finished in white chrome. Terrific bluing. Tanfoglio firing pin block that does not impede trigger one iota. Very light SA trigger - smooth as butter.

And the best part? Well, I'll just save that for the photo review I'll try to post this weekend.

I have a Ruger SR 1911. A very good reliable platform. An excellent value

Also own a RIA compact officers model. Excellent pistol & bargain

Both of them have been modified to my personal preference. All the .45 goodness I need.
