One thing everyone should know about CZ is that CZ cannot supply the demand so you will see certain models go way above MSRP for used guns. This is the case with the OD models among others.

CZ sights get the job done but if you are used to Warren Tactical/Sevigny sights then you will be crying a river.

Whoever told you that you need to drill out the sights, stay away from them...

Yeah I've noticed demand is high and supply is low currently. However I've seen both colors on gunbroker for roughly $550-$650 with the od green being more scarce and occasionally towards the $650 mark. The sight thing honestly could've been and most likely is my misinterpretation of something heard in a video or forum when looking at these guns.

You have to understand how CZ works. They simply cannot supply the US with the firearms we demand. So to counter that they build in batches. They might build SP-01 Phantoms once a year in April and in June they will build a batch of OD Green P-01s. When this happens you get a flood of these everywhere. But when they sell out they sell out until a year. This is just an example and probably not that accurate of one but it gives you an idea.

SO, if you want a specific CZ your best bet is to put a "notify me when in stock" and when you get that email you better be ready to buy. It took me a good half year to get a CZ SP-01 Phantom. They sold out within a week.

Oh and Czech in general sucks at anything production wise it seems. They have no sense of urgency.

Should come hang out here, between two LGS that I frequent I've seen four of them recently

OP - between your two choices I would probably take the CZ, but you really can't go wrong with either of them. See which one fits you better and go from there.

Hes right though. They look like fat chicks in skinny jeans. Also those grips are fucking horrid. One looks like a pineapple grenade pattern FFS. I love OD green but lipstick on a pig.

Many manufacturers came out with their Glock gun, who cares. Is the Springfield a reliable piece, answer is yes. Now if you want to have an issue with Springfields business practices have at it. As far as CZ's you either like them or you don't, I wont argue on that as my first choice would be a Sig.

They shoot great too. Although I have shot/owned many different brands of handguns, CZ is and will be my favorite. I still have my 75 back in Finland, I bought it mid 90s. I have lost track of how many rounds of ammo has gone through it, but I just remembered that just on one summer 5yrs ago I had "way too much" free time and I went to gun range at least twice a week. Usually three times. Every time 150 - 300 rnds (yeah nothing great but I was also shooting my Sako M92S). So just on that summer alone I must have shot at least around 2500 to 3000 rounds. Not a single malfunction on an already very well used gun.

I have experienced one "gun fight stopping" failure on it though, slide release broke some ten years ago I think. It was a known CZ defect back in the day, but I had already several thousand rounds through it at that point. That is the only failure on that gun, now last time when I was in FInland noticed that one original mag starts to act up and not always locks the slide back after last round. All and all I have been very happy with CZ.

Personal preference. I personally love CZs and love the look of those.

I agree. Love how they melt in your hands as well. My all metal CZ's and CZ clones are the most comfortable to shoot.

Make the Grips out of this. It's the only thing which will make even those CZs look good....

Harr...! On a positive side-note, the bacon grips would make the CZs smell better, too

Look; I think that those CZs are only one step above this Taurus, looks-wise.

Maybe Hollywood will be able to use all these guns in the next STAR WARTS movie...

On second thought, we should contact DARPA about making gunpowder which smells like Bacon.

Can you imagine..?

It would make the Muslims go nuts.

The only downside is that it would make our guys always get hungry...

From the utube videos the CZ steel internals do look over built, robust. CZ vs XD what say you ?
Keep in mind that the XD will be approx $100-$150 cheaper online, and the XD comes with a rebate of extra mags to boot. The CZ looks nicer and will hold it's value better. Both firearms are reliable. It just a matter of what you're going for. Looks or value...

My first handgun was a XD Service, and I currently EDC a Mod 2 Subcompact. I love the CZ PCR and P01 Compacts as well. You really can't go wrong with either despite what the XD haters say.

CZ hands down. Springfield's, to me, are a very ho hum pistol. Nothing all that special about them. I will say that the Mod 2 does feel better in hand than an XD but a CZ is the far better pistol in all aspects.
