Full disclosure, I love Streamlight. That said I'd recommend a Protac 2AA or if you need a real penlight the Protac 2AAA. But I just noticed that you didn't say what it is for. Weapon light, EDC, camping other?

Kind of all of the above. So yes, for a rifle, but I use them for other purposes as well.

That's a good looking light. The "law enforcement" one is 400 lumens. Thats pretty good for 45 bucks

The current / in stock at dealers G2X Tactical is a single output 320 lumen light which has a nice beam and is plenty bright while the LE is a dual output 400/15 lumen light......ust depends on what you want. A lot of guys dont want dual output lights on weapons, they like single high output only with momentary / constant on options......in the heat of the moment when they want full power to identify a threat, they dont to be on low lumen mode when they activate the light, giving away their position and not enough usable light to identify the target......... Although surefire does not label them as weapons grade lights, they are more than capable of handling that. I had one on my AK for a year and have had them on 12ga pump shotguns (that see use, not just sit in closet) for 2 years and they are as good as new. Most of the major youtube guys have good videos on them saying they are the best "budget" weapon light out there.

That being said, if you can wait a few more weeks Surefire just released a 600 lumen single output G2X tactcal that is shipping to dealers by the end of the month. That one will be around $60 but totally worth it

Just picked up a couple and really like them. Otherwise usually use Streamlight TLR series for guns.

For anyone looking for the G2X there is a long thread here somewhere listing several vendors, prices, and initial quality reviews

Code is actually BLKFL14

Thanks for this post Sub. I think I've found what's going to go on my new build. Due to this thread, I went looking around for a good rail mount for this flashlight yesterday.
Die hard Streamlight fan for many years. I have plenty of SureFire CR123A batteries!

Ive owned and wasted alot of money on flashlights, the best i have ever used is the streamlight sidewinder. Its super portable, last forever, never flickers like those cheap pos ones or maglite types. Ebay is the best place to get them, you can find them about 40-50 shipped usually. I have 3 of them and 2 are still brand new in plastic. First one still going strong 5 years later. I take it everywhere. Built very well, no big claims about 10 million lumen or any other bs just a great working heavy duty light.

I am in the same boat but looking for an EDC light for $50 or less. My requirement is small and lightweight. Need a push button on the tail for momentary or click for constant. Don't really care for low but i'll take it if possible. Streamlight seems to fit the bill, just not sure which model. Oh and I need it to have a pocket clip.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0189HOS8K...&pd_rd_w=rTl0i

It is over $50 but has 10 years warranty and insanely bright.
Have one on my belt for 1 year now.

I use it every day
