Thank you, Sir. It's very similar to my 16" 54R VEPR that I posted a while back and that setup works well too.

This one better - less recoil, less kick up, doorbreaker, better quolity. Personally saw two broken original brakes.

Hi folks. Brand new to everything here, thought I'd pop in with a few Vepr pics.

Robinson import .308, circa 2008

I sadly had to sell that one for rent money around 2008. Finally replaced it with a 20" squareback 54R this past Sunday.

Nice 20'', b00jum. I like the UBR on AKs, especially with the RD adapter. I plan on doing one with a UBR or something very smilar. I think you ended up with a better rifle. What kind of brake it that?

That's a Primary Weapons Systems FSC47. I'm looking to get one of RF57's muzzle spacers and a crush washer for it... my blind pin cut a nice straight groove in the finish about halfway around the barrel when I pulled it. Whoops.

The UBR/RD adapter combo is pretty nice, helps balance it back away from the barrel. The adapter does extend a tiny bit below the receiver so it rubs on the back of my thumb, but it's nothing I won't get used to.

Default Vepr Family

From top to bottom:

20 inch vepr in 54r w/ cnc warrior russian style brake/flash hider

20 inch vepr in 5.45 w/ sgm rail, cnc warrior galil style folding stock, bakelite red us palm ak grip (should have gone with a black one), and cnc warrior conical flash hider.

16 inch vepr 54r w/ some spare parts I had laying around. Still on the fence concerning what muzzle attachment to go with.

Taking the new 16 inch vepr to the range today to dial her in.

Nothing says "i'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass" quite like showing up to the party with a .308 AK.

Nice rifle
Thanks, x39 saiga I put Bulgy fs/gb on it and made a 22mm thing with a muzzle nut to hide the barrel. I got a TWS dogleg rail and rear site too. The gastube is vented, I didn't really care it was the nicest out of the pile so it got stuck on this rifle, lol.

[QUOTE=Dragynn;1632232]Nothing says "i'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass" quite like showing up to the party with a .308 AK.

Is that some kind of sleeve or lock nut behind the flash supressor?

Very nice, I'll be getting the same handguard eventually.

It is, on a previous Vepr I had backbored that same FH, on the squareback I just bought though, it seems to have a longer threaded area, which left me with too little thread and too much muzzle too far into the FH.

Found a thread here where another member had solved the issue with a small sleeve matched to the taper of the barrel, and just long enough to cover the pin gouge and the taper of the barrel:

http://akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151513

8.00 shipped, not bad and a nice little solution, though I think for the next batch they should be maybe a 16th longer. Good clean look I think, shipped fast too.
