Default 1940's era General Electric deep freezer

Anyone have any idea what the valus or collector value or where to find either for this type of freezer, it still runs.

They are heavier than a MFer. I just scrapped one about 6 months ago.

It would have to be 110% for anyone to have any interest as an era piece.

New ones can be had at Sears, Kenmore, for $279......I bought one.......far more efficient and I can move it all by myself.

Have to agree.

For any collectibility it better be mint and full of factory chrome - even then the worth is pretty low as they are incredibly inefficient and heavy enough to make Atlas cringe....

if the one you scrapped was dead then no prob. most from that era still run. im a fan of stuff built to work and last. a new one might last 5-10 years and be more efficient but one with the clean lines of the golden age that will never stop running and will save you from a nuclear blast if you climb in is just cool

Don't have any pictures, was not sure if it had any value. Might break out the camera and snap a few.

Probably has the baby-killer latch mechanism? Scrap it.

They just had one on Pawnstars, I believe it went for around a hundred or so.

I use a 53 Servel as my daily refrigerator. Modified with a modern thermo couple propane
burner.
I have a 47 and a 57 standing by as backup.
