Tantal
I'm looking at getting a polish tantal in a trade while it looks to be a quiality build built by Blackwell Industries. I'm not sure about the wire stock on these what is it like to shoot one of these and if I don't like it what can i do to change it?

The stock on the Tantal IMO is badass. If you don't like it, it's a stamped receiver and can accept a solid wood or polymer stock.

i think the weight of the wire folder balances the rifle out very nicely. to me it balances better than a standard AK74 with a ploymer stock. polymer stock AK74 with a 74 brake feels top-heavy to me. placing a cleaning kit in the stock almost balances it for me but not quite. the tantal steel wirefolder along with the standard tantal brake feels very balanced to me.
for me the wire folder is fine and gives a pretty good cheek weld once you kind of alter your head position and the way that you shoulder it. i shoulder it slightly higher than normal and keep my head up rather than tilting my head and it is very comfortable to me. my only complaint is that the sling swivel is right next to your face

I haven't found using the folding stock to be a problem for me either. And, as was already stated, the Tantal will accept a standard stock if you want to go that route. I thought I'd probably put a standard stock on mine, but I seem to get decent accuracy out of it with the folder, so I haven't bothered. I don't find it any worse (for me) to deal with than the Warsaw length standard stocks. (Mine is an Interarms/High Standard). I did get a K-Var NATO length stock to put on my Bulgarian AK-74, as I believe I will like that better than the current (Tapco) Warsaw length stock set.

The wirestock feels fine when firing the rifle, I changed mine out to a NATO size polymer stock though. The folding stock just felt way too short for me.

I've had mine for a few years now and a couple thousand rounds through it. It is what it is, an "asault" rifle with a folding stock to stablize the weapon during rapid fire and folded for CQB and vehicle crewmen. Very well made/designed but not made for target shooting ergonomics.
Samuel Jackson sumed up the AK in Pulp Fiction.

I know the wire stock doesn't look as cool as a downfolder but its as solid as a rock! Really, unless the length bothers you I can't imagine changing it. The Tantal is a really nice gun, if you get an original barrel you will love it!

Wrap the wire in paracord and it becomes more comfortable, add the grenade launcher buttpad and it gives you a longer length of pull. I love mine.
