1. "TwoBit"....... Hmm...... you know a guy named Philip from the OBB (if you get my drift)?? Well, on to your quote.
2. Starting a "flame war" was not my intention. Not at all. (Or you would know!!)
3. You REALLY don't know who I am if you make a statement like that. I am a man of controversy and seem to be the unfortunate hub of many FF member's wheels, getting blamed regularly for things I had never even heard of previously. (Of course, not that I haven't earned some heat the old fashioned way through my own actions.) Flames and I be mates, no worries. But I can understand if this site keeps you busy enough to prevent regular knowledge of the FF world, as I have similar problems on FF and a couple other sites-- which are being hammered by cell phone spammers at present. Must be that time of year or something. Still I'll take those any day over the porn spammers, gack.
I'm in fact a tool. ( This is a test of that moderator thing hanging on my user ID. Radio, get over it.) Test complete.

PC means "personally choking". 'Least in this case.
2 bit finally OK'd my ass as not a spam bot. Thanks to the regulars here for the intrusion of us homeless during the recent disaster. I was at sea, looking on and situationally mute. Read a bunch on here and enjoyed that though. The AR files is another story. Smells of musty wall paper and dusty carpet. What's up with that?

ETA: WHOA, why does my post show "moderator"? That ain't right. Two bit, don't you dare, that ain't funny. Just checked on Radio, I can edit his post. Course, that in itself, being Radio don't mean much. He is in fact mostly a tool, but damn, I shouldn't be able to do that.

Your statement, made as a gas-guy, perfectly reflects this thinking and shows your ignorance of the diesel viewpoint, which frankly is common as us diesel-guys are a rare breed so I don't hold it against you.
A diesel does NOT rev all day, every day, but instead comes from the opposite corner of low-rpm built-in grunt. Thus where a gas-guy would NEED those 4.56's or 4.88's (or more, depending on tire size) just to get moving, I can do the same thing with the 4.10's because I have gobs of TORQUE at my command. From the factory even the 4.10's with factory tires were annoyingly overgeared as I went through 1st gear too fast, might as well have started out in 2nd; and at 70-75 mph I was SCREAMING the engine (should mention here it would be a perfectly fine RPM for a gas 22RE but bad overrev for a diesel). Gave very serious thought to switching from 4.10's to 3.73's. Turns out 33-inch tires will do the exact same thing. However, if I went to 35's I would shift from 4.10's to 4.56's because 60mph would only be 2000 RPM. That's one beauty of a diesel, you choose the gearing for your intended use, not because you need it just to roll.
Well, back to the FF and my true home.

Love my Jeeps. However, I shall NEVER talketh smack about diesels. In fact, the great hope I had in life was that Jeep would actually put the CRD diesel engine in the wrangler platform, thereby trasforming it into a real truck. I own an 05 Rubicon Unlimited. Jeep makes a version of this vehicle with heavier axles and the CRD for millitary service (I forget which country). I made dozens of old gym soks crunchy thinking of how awesome that would be, but alas, 'twas not to be. Damned emissions standards stopped it. (IT DIDN'T STOP MY EMISSIONS THOUGH)...
So, I have to admit..... "Hi, I am Ian. And I have Diesel envy".
