I always thought it`d be cool to mill a repro out as a stickshift for your car.

They'd make good tap handles too.

Unfortunately, my vehicle would have it sticking out to the side (93 Chevy Cheyenne 1500), and I don`t drink but both are baller as hell ideas I think.

A gear shifter!

EUREKA! It would be GREAT on my Toyota Tacoma with the center console column shifter. I'm really considering this...

The handle is wood, the grenade part is metal. The handle isnt hollow nor does the metal cap come off. Still very cool to say the least!

I stand corrected, just looked at mine and it is all wood. Very hard to tell it isnt metal!

MOTOROLANUT, you can make an improvised stamp using an Irish potato. Cut the potato in half across the width. Curve the broken cross with a razor knife, dry the liquid off, and use a stamp pad for the ink.....then stamp it.

Allied prisoners in German prison camps used this very method to make false paperwork to aid in their escapes.

I remember using that technique in elementary school art class, then later reading about it in WWII books.

You can improvise home made Potato Masher grenades for display. You can turn the handles on a small wood lathe. The grenade housing from empty PVC glue cans, with the top as the end cap (after you spray paint them in a "military color").

Not 100% accurate, but the kids will love playing with them. BTW, you might NOT want to drill the handle for the pull cord. The ATF might get real excited over that.

I ordered two of these and the shipping was $15. I wish I had a surplus store around here that carried things like this. There was one in Columbus GA and they carried stuff like this.

The last time I saw one of those was in Berlin's Grunewald Forest in the winter of 1979. We had been moved there on an alert and were just holding in place when one guy came walking over asking "hey, what's this?" It was old and rusty. Can't describe it better since I was running after that. PSG had him ground it and EOD took care of it.

Lol, I was stationed in Germany in the early 90's and we went metal detecting in the Hurtgen forest one weekend. A bajillion hits on shrapnel which made the detecting worthless but we did find a 75mm shell, and most interestingly, I thought I saw some kind of encrusted wine bottle in a stream below the Kall trail. I picked it out of the water and it turned out to be the business end of a panzerfaust, horribly rusted and mangled. whatever explosive they filled them with was visible. I gently lowered it onto the bank and we alerted the Polizei. We got fined for metal detecting dammit! Thanks for nothing!

Another story that my friend told me. He was an engineer in Hanau Germany in the late 80's and they were tasked with clearing some land for what eventually became the Wolfgang PX. another soldier was hitting an overgrown pile of logs in the forest with a stick and commented on the funny sound they made when hit. Frank went over and said "stop, those are stacked artillery shells. Lets walk away slowly right now" They had been there since the war ended.

I ordered one from RTG some time ago. While they are one piece of wood they look very authentic. Had mine a couple of days before I noticed.
